  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc wanted! clutch cover

why is that you make that stuff? can't you 1,5 or 100:excuseme:

We can make them in batches of 1,5 or 100. Many parts require a lengthy setup time and to run just 1 can sometimes take an entire day. Most anodizing shops charge a minimum lot charge of around $90. So to anodize 1 cover is gonna run $90 plus shipping to and from. The laser engravers charge a setup fee and a per part fee. $40-50 bucks there to have 1 cover engraved. Add in material and labor and we're getting close to $300 to make 1 cover.

Don't hesitate to pick up the ignition cover. If and when they ever do make the clutch cover again. The ignition cover might not be available.
Oh man!

How many are left?

I'd definitely want both covers.

Thanks for the update on the other awesome parts heading my way. This is my first Husky since the old WR125 I had back in high school. Loving the WR300, and bought the last of the Italian version for a reason.

There is 1 black ignition cover left and 8 red ones.

Kind of regret not adding that to my order last night.

Would have been nice to have that ship with my other parts.

Thanks Jim!

I'm excited for all the 7602 and motosportz hardware to get here. They'll make the WR look great, but they will protect it for years to come!

Looking at the 7602 thread linked above... 11 clutch cover requests so far. Over half way there!

Just need 9 more!

All of my parts arrived yesterday. Gotta say I'm impressed with the quality of the 7602 components. That ignition cover is really stout! I hope to hear the clutch cover will be available soon. Thanks again for the quick shipping and knocking off the shipping cost on the ignition cover.

Just have to find the time away from work to put all of this hardware on the WR.

Eliminating the oil check bolt would be reason enough, even if they weren't stronger or much better looking than the stock cover.

Two more pre-orders and we've reached the thresh hold for production.

Surely some other 250/300 guys want/need one too.

Heath

Ok, 19 is close enough. Pre orders are up and running. We will be offering them in Red, Black, Blue and Raw machined aluminum. We will be doing the pre order group buy for the ignition covers also so you can get matching cover if you like. They will also be available in Red, Black, Blue and Raw alluminum. Clutch prices are $139.95 for raw alum and $144.95 for anodized. Ignition cover prices are $119.95 for Raw alum and $124.95 for anodized. Pre orders will be up from today the 24th of June to the 11th of May. That's a little over 2 weeks.

Thanks Husky Jim for suggesting the group buy idea, and thanks to the others who pushed to make it happen.
