Want to buy a new Husky but..........

First of all I bleed Husky red. I currently own a 09 WR 300 and a 08 TXC 250/300. I was wanting to buy a new bike this year but am not finding what I want from Husky. I was hoping for an all new 2/s lineup but nothing new for this year. Sounds like Husky is a good 2 years away from anything new on the 2/s front. No interest in the 450 lineup. Too big a bike for the riding/racing out here. I was considering the TXC 250 but am concerned about the low end power and fuel injection of the bike. Everything I've read says you have to ride it like a 125 because it has no low end. Don't feel like buying a new bike and messing with the fuel injection until I get it right. Dont have local dealer to help out. Why would Husky sell a bike that has fuel injection problems? MXA magazine stated that the TC was in the cellar of all 250's out there in the power department by a long way. Cant imagine the TXC being much different. The TE 310 sounds nice but dont need a street legal bike. Why pay the extra for all the street legal stuff when I'll never use it. Now a TXC 310 would be perfect...... Oh yea Husky dosn't make one. WHY????? The only bike that sounds interesting is the WR 150. Oh well looks like I'll keep my old Huskys!!!
If Husky wants to take some sales away from KTM they better get started on a new 2/s. All I see at the races are 2/s KTM's. They are improving them every year. Dont get me wrong I love my 300 and switched from KTM in 2008 with a WR 250 and havn't looked back. Maybe I'm just a little jealous and frustrated.

have you taken a 150 for a spin, pretty nice, i like it better than my 10 gasgas 250. Jeff at Halls has a really nice 310 that he took all the extra fluff off and it seems pretty fast and nice.

i dont know about a 2011 txc 250 not having low end power.i guess i just dont concure with that.i cant imagine a enduro rider or harescrambler having too much to complain about that bike...unless you just dont like 250-4t.also,the bike gets great fuel mileage compared to carbed 250s.dan

You make a lot of good points here ... Not sure why Husky seems to be struggling with the TC models ...

Myself, I'm not a fan of the efi stuff either for my own reasons but if all the bikes are going that way, we'll have to buy one some day ... I'd have to ride one of the new TXC250s and decide my self on the bottom end and overall engine performance... I don't need a lot at the bottom as I'll just use the clutch to keep the bike rolling forward and I'll expect the bike to scream after I get to the mid range and top side .... That's what I call a Husky ...

You already have 2 cool bikes ... I have an 08 TXC250 also that has been almost flawless for 650 hrs and had a 02 CR250 that I had to sell ... I'd like a 150, CR or WR ...

Do not always believe what you read in a magizine. Husky does not spend enough promoting their bikes and Motocross action has ALWAYS hated Huskys for some reason it seems. Yes I to wish they would spend more money on their 2-stroke r and d. At least put the 250-300 engine in the new frame. I'm forced to ride a 150 because the 300 and 250 frame feels WAY>>>>>>>>>>> to old school for me. The 150 ROCKS and handles AWESOME!! I tried and 06 250 Husky 4-stroke and and 09 te250 4-stroke and I did not like either of them****************************************! Glad to see you switched and even without the r and d I still feel you have a better bike then the orange POS. Good luck and continue bleeding RED and WHITE!!!

2011's must be tuned a tad differently than the '10s. I get 25-28mpg riding the stuff up here, it's not an open terrain environment if that makes any difference. There is not much to the bottom end on power but that is what the clutch is for, I'm finally learning. 1st gear is too tall for tight stuff unless you re-gear. As long as the EFI works without some silly bog or flat spot, it really is a ripper! I got the front wheel off the ground in 3rd yesterday just whacking the throttle and a little tug on the bars, oops!

The '10TC250 I bought from MotoXotica has been flawless. It handles great, and is faster than it feels. I does have a soft bottom end, but does not seem to make the bike slower. You cannot really lug it a gear high and expect to burst out of a corner. However, you also do not have to use the clutch to get it going (like a 125 2T). I ride mine with 450fs all the time. I never feel like the bike holds me back. Of course, I always want more power, but that is always the case with any bike. I tend to concentrate on the feel and handling of a bike as the most important, then try to get more power once I have the bike turning and riding properly.

As a side note, it seems a lot of guys these days are looking for a bike between a 450f and 250f. They do not want all the weight of the 450f, but quickly want for more with the 250f. Some jumped all over the KTM 350f with disappointment. What most (at least younger guys) do not realize is the perfect bike exists. It is the 250/300 two stroke. Low weight, super power, and now smooth power. I am waiting for Husky to come out with a new big bore 2 stroke. If not, I may do something crazy and get a KTM 250sx or completely lose my mind and get a new service Honda 250/500!

I have a 09 TE 310 and it really is nice once it is sorted out (power up kit installed, extra emissions crap removed and suspension set to your style. The 2011's are much lighter than mine and I've been told they rev more too. Although mine is pretty great for most of my riding. I still have a 150 2t for real tight stuff (for sale) and a 530 for two track or more open single track.
