• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Sadly I must report that there were several Ambulances going leaving the track, one person was airlifted. I have no knowledge of any of riders or their status.

In fact I looked around and thought "these 2 look familiar! And Ann was there from MotoXotica (sp?)!

Interesting pics...

Here are Ann & Dans dogs (eager & fun, yet laid back) with another dog at the party which was shivering from either the temperature or he was just plain skiddish, nervous, or lacking in confidence... dunno:

Great day, got to meet a whole lot of people, wish I could remember their names.

Next time I'll take a notebook or at least a piece of paper.

Good times. I'll get to work on the video stuff tomorrow.

For the record I've lost the little cord that allows running the camcorder on 110AC. I've got to charge up the (old & dying) battery then edit/import for a few hours, repeat.

This video editing is taking a bit of time.

Man, Dean, you got some great shots. I had a wonderful time at the event. Two full days of fins ringing and silencer's belching out the SaWEET smell of castor oil. Ahhhh, vintage two strokes!!!

Done! Took forever (10+ hours) so I hope somebody watches them. The first crash at 2:30 seems to have problems with his rear tire getting traction (he has helmet cam), 4:20 is the other Cafe Husky photographer.

Silverthorne fell at about 6:45... and did not move for a long time. They were having a great battle.

The sound really should be turned up.

Part one (9:30 long):

In the second one they started a race while an ambulance is still on the track (1:40)... and there were 2 civilians operating a USAF helicopter (2:40)... the guy starting his bike (3:40) reminds me of Joe Chod (even though I've never met Joe), and the shoes at 4:00 impressed me as vintage.

Part 2 (under 5 minutes):

Nice job Coffee on the photos and video. The photo of #5 Husky 250 who was 2nd on start was my friend Gary the Rock Oil distributor. His other bike is an 08 TXC 450.

I rode that race several times on a '77 Husky 250. That was in the 80's before they had Legends race there. But it was still Bad Brad putting it together with Dick Mann.

Fantastic pics:applause:

..hope it's ok to add some from a recent UK twin shock over 50's event to continue the theme but without the sunshine:D

Johnnyboy, Is that the Foxhills Circuit??

Looks somewhat like it. Raced a GP there in '91. Bobby Moore broke his arm. Donny Schmitt won the race I believe. Great dirt.

Dean, nice job with the pics and video. I really enjoyed them! Sorry I missed being there. Hopefully this will be an annual event so I can attend next year.
