• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Brentwood is near me so I'll take the photo equipment and see if I can take a few pics & video if I can get a photogenic articulate interviewer, WoodsChick? Michael Lueders? Anyone?

Anyone want to come meet the vintage stars? I'm looking forward to this!

This weekend!

My wife and I are going to spectate and hunt for Husky parts. We'll be there just before dark on Friday, leaving Sunday morning. Would love to meet some Cafe'ers. We'll be staying on the grounds in our motorhome.

My Brother and I will be there Sat hoping to get a few shots as well. Found out yesterday the racing starts at 10:00 am.

Lots of fotos, please, those guys are all super easy to talk with and very approachable. Also all are still quite fast, been on group rides with some of them. Been behind Bill S on a 2 track road in Mexico doing everything to keep him in sight as he was doing foot on the pegs full lock drifts around corners. Had Danny L pass me on another Mex ride as we were coming up a steep loose uphill by the time I crested he had crossed the valley on the otherside was going fast away 3-400 yards of ground in virtually seconds,,,this was a fun trail ride, he was on a Baja KX500 with a bald rear Michelin....I digress those guys all still rail!! Enjoy the show!! again Pics please, thanks R

I'll have a Cafe Husky shirt on in case someone trys to find me. I just sent a couple of PMs to people with my cell number too.

This guy rode his 2006 TE610 there, he was stoked about the bike! 2500 miles and still had the original tires! Trying to make an SM tire out the rear? Nice bike!

Who was the key person that organized this awesome event?

Brad Lakey

He may want to get different springs...

It also takes sponsors for an event like this. As far as I can tell McGuire Harley Davidson is the key sponsor for this event and recently became a member on Cafe Husky and I want to publicly thank him for sponsoring this event.

If anyone is thinking Harley or Buell you may want to at least consider them.

More later...

I was a little disappointed with the size of the crowd. Although this was pic taken between heats there should have been a lot more people, but the vintage guys seemed happy that there were people... dunno.

Off topic alert!
What I'm really happy with this camera lens. This pic is a totally uncropped and unaltered:

See the little dark circle in this shot? That is where that previous pic was taken from the same spot - 70-300mm lens!

That is an amazing shot!! I think you make some extra cash with that in the LA area catching the "Stars"!! hahaha

Typical race.

I'm not going to post up pics of every single race or every pic I took cause that would be a little boring for all of you and take a lot of time for me, but here is a typical race:
