• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Some friends from Seattle stopped by to check out the good stuff down here on the way down to Central Oregon for the Chinahat ISDE. We had a great ride, perfect trails, fast group. Was a real good day.

2 KTM 250F's with 300 and 315 kits on them (fast girl on the orange one), 1 WR250 1 GG300 and my little 125.

Dude.....wheres the rocks and roots? Karl Spangler must be out there with a "trailskeeper" team and 1000 landscapers with rakes!

Actually there are sections with miles of jagged rocks, we rode that later in the day and was done with the cam by that time. I'll shoot a real rocky section next time up.

Funny you say that as I describe the area as super EZ nothing hard. Then realized after helping get up a few hills there is some semi challenging stuff up there. The snow has just melted off and the clay holds water forever and is very slick in areas. You would be in dust one second and sliding on clay the next. On this ride 85% of it was perfect coffee grounds.

the second vid has rocks for about 20 feet right at the beginning :D

I need to get down there. When is the next one ?
What did you think of the ktm 300 and 315 ? I heard the motors are sweeet !

We were having so much fun railing we never traded. Trav says the 300 is better than the 315, Rev quicker and is smoother.

Hey great vids, that little 2 banger sounds sweet when your on the pipe. Shes a screamer alright.

i love the log dodging on the trail in the second video (which is actually 001 on youtube, i think)! i'm sure you had a better view in reality, but on the wide angle video, it looks like you had milliseconds to pick a path and hope for the best! :)

There is a lot of that here. You learn to keep the front end light and get over trail trash. You also learn to cross trail trash at shallow angles and stay loose / let your bike move / drift. After years of it you hardly see the trail trash anymore.

Oh wait, your from Seattle, you probably already know this.

lol... i haven't been out on a trail around here, yet... socal (where i moved from a few months ago) has lots of dead grass and small rocks to dodge? :busted: :p

soon, though, and i can't wait to start exploring! the CRF is almost back in one piece and there should be a friendly Husky sitting around waiting to be ridden in a little bit, too... ;)

Nice stuff K!

The scenery doesn't look familiar, but I would like it to (hint, hint ;))

The lil' ripper does sound nice. I rode my buddies YZ125 last weekend and it was SO much fun. Like a mtn bike with 35hp. I think its time to sell the KX to finance a 125.

We should get together for a ride soon so I can sample it
