• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Video Start on KOM 2015

Wow John! Instant carnage.... An enduro start format, might make that a little more civil, but that isn't the point, is it?

Last year we had a qualifier on sat for our start times. Then on sunday we started 2 at a time side by side. now very much fun for those watching. When was the last time you saw so many people, helicoperters and cameras at a race. This event goes on for 2 weeks and draws like 50,000 people so they want to keep it fun to watch

Not every race is the same there are all different types of motorcycle races. I personally have tried over the years to at least try as many as I could. Maybe just so I can say I tried that. From MX to Wide open Baja or Desert to up in the trees even a few dual sport events. We only live once
We do not get a second time thru. Since I have done a lot of them I now really enjoy a race where I know it will take everything I have just to finish. At my age I know I will never never ever even come close to a win at KOM. But if I work hard train hard prep my bike learn new things I might just get a finish. So my new goal is to get another finish. If that means waiting in line at the first hill off the start or later in the day teaming up with a fellow racer to work together to get up a canyon. Then that is what I will do. But to say that does not look like fun or that will hurt my bike is something I will never say. I so enjoy the challenge it so worth it to push yourself and find just what you have.
Like 360 days to go

Mr Landofmotards Then do it what is really keeping you from saying I tried that Colorado is not that far. We had a few people from there. Even Nicole Bradford from Colorado was there and see kicked my butt So get a used 250 2 stroke and start getting ready or even a 165 or 200 works great also

That was funny telling that guy just wait we have all day But really some finisher were out there till 5pm

I'd like to try it when I grow up. I just need a sub 200lb. bike and a huge bucket of patience.

That was not Nicole She was on a KTM 200 and does not ware a Motorcycle Super Store Bell Helmet. She is the one who flip her bike a few min earlier . Yes she is fast and she did beat me, she races the National also where she is very hard to beat. Her and her husband are nice people

You friend got a few shots of me after being ran over with in 15 feet of the start I said I was just going to take my time try not to use to much energy and cruise up. I have rode this hill a few times before any way

3.32 Right lower corner of screen Blue and White MC Superstore Bell Helmet with Blue and Yellow Moose gear
4.41 in the middle
4.56 taking off my goggles
5.34 kick starting my bike
6.27 That is Nicole Bradford just above me as she flips her bike back down
6.44 She is picking it up
7.50 top of the screen talking to race promoter jimmy Lewis
9.54 Ride off the screen to the left

From there on no real problem just not fast enough to make the afternoon race BUT there is next year

Sorry John I thought you made the afternoon race ! My bad ! Check out some of my helmit vids I captured a bunch of her :) She rides better than most out there lol
