• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

for all those who think a dez race is an open dirt road high speed type thing.........

John that is an ugly one. I see so many guys outside the ribbon, did they get DQ??

No it was told to us at the riders meeting that the ribbon was only a guide. If the course when up a hill you could make your own line as long as you went up the hill.Same thing going down If the course went down a canyon you could use the whole canyon as long as you came out the other end Really it did not matter as the course was always flowing and you really only went in the general direction Nice set up
No one complained it was tuff but fun and NO one was reported hurt

Nice. Steve G told me he had to stop on some of the hills and collect himself, he said he thought he was in good shape!! (also he rode his KTM300 instead of his usual CRF450). I sent Steve (40B) an email from Nick where, he mentioned that the Purvines team will be on 2Ts for this event.
I know the cam flattens those things, but the tell tale roosted rocks that roll by are good indicators of the steepness. Your stops are all because of other riders not your doing, that WR300/Ohlins machine is a tractor and gets over the trash super well.

Sorry but if i had to ride that crap I would stop riding. That looks not at all fun to me. I guess when you grow up riding trees and forest this just looks horrendous. Nice effort though.

Looks awesome! I would do something stupid and go over the handlebars out there lol. It's crazy how you have that much freedom to choose a route, people were coming from everywhere at the first hill. Thanks for the video. It's probably best I never try a 300 lol

What is so good about the Nationals is there are 10 different races in 4 different states
Calif,Nevada,Idaho, and Utha so you get a little of everything to win a champship you have to do well in all types of riding areas.

I'm kinda with Motosportz on that as well. And you know I prefer those single track "woods" type rides, but I will most likely support your 100s MC national

great vid and a big congrats to you on doing so well!

Hey Mike at least you came and gave it a go so many guys just will not come race any more. Sorry to hear you had bike problems .More guys need to come out and race it is more of a good time then racing anymore. Plus these Nationals are tuff so the speeds are slower and you have less chances of getting hurt Then flat out in Baja with a high speed get off .See you in Panaca Nevada on Aug 24 for round 9, I did it last year it was fun and was about the same temature as Reno maybe a little cooler Also the course was super easy .Check out my video from Panaca last year to get a idea of what to expect
Later john
