• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Just a little crash 5 minutes in ..... let's see, my leg is jacked, my finger is half torn off..... oh crap, is my camera ok? better check my package too  Nice ... that "little" 167 really does rock ! I plan on 2 weeks in August riding that sort of stuff in Idaho ... can't wait now.

John what caused yours and all the get offs on that down hill?? We have seen much more scary in H&Hs no?? Was it the loose silty stuff with ruts?? gladd you got recovered.

what was the GH temp that day. 70s,80s, 90s?/

50 open? I recognize some of those trails and road hills, the down hill after the log jump hill where in comes down to the road, Ive been up and down that one at different times.

I'm thinking I will watch the entire video ... :) ... Not going out today I think ...Its raining and my tires are well past worn out...

Nice looking track to start off with ... Not sure on the hanging tires but I'm sure I could get more mileage out of a few of them ...

That crash was in some gnarly ruts ... You can stop and start the video and almost see what exactly happened ... too bad you fell over there as that was towards the end of that downhill ...

Cool video and it looked a lot longer than 12 miles ... Myself, I had no idea what one of these races were about from one to end so thanks for posting an entire end-to-end video... My bike would have had overheating problems for sure down in the ravens ... I'd have to adjust the entire ride to help this issue ...

Your bike seemed to pull really well in the mid-range all day ... Congrats on finishing ...

That hill was alot steeper then it looks.I was going to fast and when it got dusty I just could not slow down or see.I knew i was going to crash and that was the scary part.It had lots of loose gravel on it and you just could not stop if you were going down at any speed. As for the temp it was hot really hot back in the canyons.
The second hour has some nice bolder filled canyons I posted it yesterday but the sound is off, hope to get it fixed today and post a link

My package was ok I was checking my leg as it felt wet like it was bleeding.Turned out to be one big yellow and blue bruise

That was good, glad theres more to come. I was close this year to joining you, just was not bike ready (shes good now with ZipTy shock and TXC kit) and we are all good with the terrain and obstacles I love that stuff.
Did Paul make it up the sandy hill or was that him off to the right?(the cam really flattens everything!!)
At the Husky ride day we were riding through the first 2 sewer pipes into the wash for fun the same direction, that was a fun looking thing going in and out of the entire row. You are right that 165 is a torque monster sounds like mid range running 300 until you pin it up hills it goes from 300 to 125 and back!!
I really wish you would join the Tecate fun for the 2013 private event.
(2012 was the best ever, post rain and on the 310) Or for the Dec 2012 THS you will love it.
Im waiting to see the next viddy, hope you guys came down (hope you didnt have to ride up!!!) from the ridge thats @east of the back park road on a tight single track with "waterfall" type drop offs its a bitchen trail (we did it one year at DR torture test weekend, post rain with some running water, epic!!)

C'mon Ajax .... you've been riding too much and I'm still waiting to see hour 2

Every time I down load it the video is correct but the audio is wrong I do work on it every night
My friend is comming over today and WE will get it fited. The second hour has alot more tuffer stuff.
Even parts where I have to move some rocks and get pulled up
Overall the course was not that bad but the fact I crashed then had trouble on that big hill plus the heat
took its toal. But I know I finished every inch of that course
