  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Very few Xlite threads! [apart from starting issues!]

According to the Husqvarna factory race team, AKA ZipTy racing. This is absolutely true.

My reason for posting was due to others throwing my beloved machine under the bus.

I have a good buddy with a 310 I ride a lot. Love the bike, it does feel lighter (than my 511 which has tons of DS crap on it) but in the end I like my 511 as much or maybe even better. In really tight stuff the 310 is better for sure, After firast gear I like the 511 better. It is also far more versatile for me. All great bikes and all are a trade off one way or another.

Yep, but that doesn't mean the 449/511 is heavy. Change to a lithium battery and swap the stock muffler for an FMF, and it comes out lighter than a stock Xlite. Sorry to go of topic, couldn't resist. Now back to the show.

Of course the same mods can be done to the smaller bike with the same weight reduction. The weight difference is minimal and I personally prefer the way the 511 handles with the CTS and I think it is more efficient, though less exciting.

As the mechanic, nothing out of the ordinary and besides the starting issue (just the '13; # 100) really good stuff.
And for a 140 lb rider they have plenty of beast...and they do get hammered!

Will hate to see the breed go away.

My 'A' friends tell me that the Husky 310 just plain 'works' for me. Whatever the magic is, I can ride it faster and longer with full confidence that it will never do anything but bail me out. When I get to the 'edge' of control on this bike it seems to be a wide area which lets me explore my limits and has taught me a lot.

ive noticed Very few 11/12 Xlite threads! [apart from starting issues!]
That's a good thing? isn't it?

Got 130 hours on my 012 te 310.
I'm a bit worried about future parts and servicing. I currently own 3 huskies and have owned 7 total!
im sad and aware that 'husqvarna' is no more.
only yellow and blue KTMS!

It seems most of the 4t threads are on the 310 and 449\511 platforms now ..Not sure where the 250cc are at in this mix ...

My 250s never have any real issues to talk about ...

Truth be told I'd have been better off with the '09 engine than the x-lite for the type of riding I do, but it is what it is and I still have fun riding it, although the abrupt throttle response gets annoying at times, and thats with a throttle tamer.
Throttle tamer? You mean the clutch lever?

I've got both type 250cc engines ... The older engines take a moment to spool up from the very bottom but after they both get ~7000 RPMs or so ... Mine seem pretty equal ...

I felt really fast in the woods on my TC250 Ray_ray owns now. Was the most amazing handling bike i have ever owned. I could not get over the inconsistent starting when you stalled it in the woods and let it go (plus i had to many bikes at the time) The 125 and x-lights have amazing geometry and ballance.

^^^^have to agree with the above

i've ridden a lot of different dirtbikes - the txc310 is so stable and nimble at the same time, you can really push things. Every time i let people ride it i hear the same thing - "the suspension is awesome - the bike is soooo nimble and comfortable to push on"

it's a wonderful bike for what it is designed for, wood racing!

I just picked up a 2011 txc250 for woods riding and the first ride it ripped. Im stoked to see some many people feel the same way and that there is only a few issues. One im having now is the E-start not working and it looks to be the drive motor or internals from what i have read. Man shes a Beeath to kick start and im sure thats the exhaust clearance that i have read about. The bike came all set up with guards and steering Dampener and with the JD tuner and all the updates so im set for some woods riding/racing.

The Tc449 i also have will be my track bike like what its meant for. I tryed the one bike do all but the Tc didn't do the tight tech climbs for me and stalled out so many times even with feathering the clutch till my hands fell off. Im not sure about the 10lbs between the bikes cause the txc250 feels so much lighter then the tc449
