  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hi,I just spoke to Steve at V-Force. I am sending my stock Husky 83-250 reed cage to him to see if he can find a useable V Force cage to work in these bikes. Would anyone be interested in buying 1 ? I will probaly have to purchase 10 units from him.
Thank you
Bil
BTW. He used to have a 1980 125 Husky CRl

Put me down for one to go on the '83 250CR. I wonder how the V-Force would compare to the Mossbacher on earlier models ?

Rhett, Not sure. I have a new Mossbarger on its way. I will post pictures of it when it arrives. I hope we can get V-Force to work. I use them on all the Reed Valve Maicos..:applause:

He is the picture of a 83 Mossbarger 250 reed cage that arrived today. Looks pretty good. Pictured on right is a stock cage, mossbarger ans a V force. i noticed the Mossbarger is about a half inch narrower then stock and the pedals are at different angles...

I am thinking if V Force has the cage, but not the manifold, i may make a few manifolds from aluminum to be able to use the V-force Reed. My picture of the V-force shows the cage removed from the manifold. that is a 89-01 Honda V-force shown.

Rhett, Spoke to them yesterday. He found 1 that will work, but it comes as a blank. The manifold holes will need to be drilled. It may be delivered later today. I will post a pic as soon as I get it.

Bill, I'd be interested in a set for an '83 500. I'd prefer it to be drilled and trimmed ready to bolt right up. Don't mind paying for shipping to UK. Let me know if any good.

Cheers
Lucien

Hi Lucien, As long as it is the same as the 250.. no problem. I should have them in and done next week.
Thanks
Bill
