  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Wow!
That's some serious armor.

I mashed my pipe last Sunday log hopping. The stock pipe doesn't resist denting very well IMO. That's a nice setup

Yeah I wish I had one of those skid plates, oh and a WR 300 to put it on.:D
BTW is that a Hodaka that I see lurking in the background?

Well, I wish you had a WR 300 too... and the skid plate too!:cheers:

Oh, and yes! That is a '71 Hodaka Ace 100 B in the backgound. Don't tell anyone... but that's the ONLY bike I can ride without feeling like my next twist of the throttle might be my LAST! :D:lol:

I promise not to let it get any further than this thread.:D
From what I can see of the Hodi it looks to be in great shape, I see you also have the optional buddy seat and rack.

I remember PABATCO!

Just throwing out a thought or two.

If a weld on or bolt on piece was formed in such a way that it could be cut down to fit existing skid plates? I know that on the 04 the Gnarly sticks out a couple inches more than stock in the front. I don't know if the aftermarket pipes for the new bikes will do the same thing or not.
Possibly a guard that could be used on older models as well as 09?
Can you tell I have a dog in the fight?

Does the Uptite skidplate for the WR250 look the same? It would be really nice if the Uptite website had some more pics of the products they offer. I see lots of guys suggesting Uptite for their guards, but I'm not going to just call up and order something I can't even look at first. I'm not trying to bash Uptite, I understand that managing a website is a pain in the arse. Brad.

Hey George, I was the one who called yesterday about the 08 cr125 plate. Keep us up to date if/when you get one for it! Thanks.
