• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Uptite Oil Filler Cap

Husqvarna
Pro Class
George said the OEMs weeped on the 610s. Aluminum with a slightly different material for the o-ring and more thread depth (I think). the logo on the head stands up enough to get a better grip than the OEM.

One for 610s and one for the rest. I'll pull it off and post a pic of it later but here it is on the bike.

That looks sweet

It sure does!

I fixed my leaky oil filler cap by going down to the locl bearing house and asking for an o-ring. They gave me two of `em for free; no more weep.

Mine has never leaked but I think I might have to add another of Georges works of art to my bike (already have few).:D

Yeah, I'm kind of trying to justify buying one, as well. I don't need it, but it looks cool:)

Oh yeah, that is a much better photo. It looked as though there was nothing to grab onto in the first photo.

It looks like a much better design than stock, as well. There is too much room in the stock cap, and the one o-ring just wasn't cutting it.

WoodsChick, I did the same fix with my cap, but I actually paid $0.45 for mine LOL! Oh well, the problem is solved, and I probably saved $40-50 also.

Oh, Dude! You got ripped off:lol:

I thought I was going to need one for the oil drain plug, too, til it was discovered that the crush washer was in the pan with all the old oil, and my 610 was already buttoned up with fresh oil:banghead:
Rather than dump the fresh oil, I just kept a can of brakleen nearby til it was time for another oil change:excuseme:

mine leaks like crazy. ive put 10 o-rings on.....

heck i was watching it like a hawk after the hurricane. it weeps ALOT

Warning - dumb question coming.

Where can I get the up-tite oil filler cap?

Website? Phone number?

Thanks,

Y

Got mine a couple of months ago. It's expensive, it looks good, and it does not leak. My stock plastic one weeped oil all the time. Messy.

Any harm in asking how much from a few people that have already bought one though? I haven't had a few minutes to call during reasonable phone hours.
