  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Great, Keep us posted! Bet that thing will roll!

You guys keep going, someday you'll be using a 55 gal drum as a piston.

Keep us posted on your start up, jetting and ride reports.

Thanx!

Yes plese let us know how it goes and what you think of the kit. Every time I think I'm going to sell my 08 CR125 I ride it again for the "last" time, then.... I decide to keep it becasue it so light and FUN LOL. I do want a lttle more low/mid and this 167 may be the ticket. If you don't mind what does it all cost? Thanks, John.

Your making me jealous, mine won't be done for a few more weeks. Do you need to install both base gaskets with it?
What carb are you going to run with it?

What year of cylinders can be bored to a 167?

I don't thin the new cylinders can be bored that large.. but I think you can buy an older one and it will fit the newer motors :excuseme:

I believe the spacer plate is necessary because the piston used is slightly taller.

Mabe that is why my EG 144 pings on premium. I didn't use it.

I used only the thick base gasket.

OTOH, my squish is .050 which is not too tight.

It seems to haul on 50% race fuel so I run that.

Walt - I am probably the only one on here that has an 08 wr so its not really all that relevant but I looked into it and found a Husky releaase that said the 08 WR also has the 5 port cylinder - same as CR not and the older 7 port head

I still have the older 7 port FBF 125 head ready to go on this weekend
If I dont like it better than stock head It may be up for sale or converted to a 167
I think its $585 + freight for a 167 kit from George
Not sure what included -
I assume the valves and head mods are included ? - problem is if you ever want to return it to 125 you need two sets of valves and head - so I believe

George does not modify your stock 125 head. The Mahle piston is a pure flat top and with the spacer and stock gaskets installed the squish is very close. He uses your power valves and cuts them to match the cylinder. If you do not have power valves for the 7 transfer port cylinder you will need to find some. They are significantly different to the power valves from the newer 5 transfer port cylinders.

The 167 is way over square and I resemble that remark.

So Walt are you still riding around with yours? How does it compare with the stock Husky 144 kit?
