  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Upgrades for the 2013 TE310R - Where to put your money

Boogie

Husqvarna
Pro Class
The thing is... I don't know.
My bike is uncorked, suspension done and it is really sweet!
I kinda want to improve something but I can't find anything to fix.

Where is your performance upgrade money going on the 2013 TE/TXC310's?

Pro Circuit or Akra exhausts??
PC high comp piston??
EFI upgrades??
Must do bulletproofing mods??
Do nothing... just ride, enjoy and maintain??

In your house, car etc... Bikes are not perpetual modding projects IMO. Dial it in and ride. Unless it's a "project" that's just not quite right.

I put a Msc Steering damper on my 250.
I See uve had suspension done be MPE, being thinking bout taking mine to them. I am pretty happy with the handling so far. But always improvements yeah. It out handles my wr300 10 I had previously by a long shot :).
What did they do to ur suspension and was it very expensive?

Imo, I think the PC exhaust, piston and Get efi system is ridiculously expensive and not worth it (2hp). If you were racing, you wouldn't run that stuff anyway. Oregonsage and Robertaccio are great resources for racing the 310R. Zipty gas tank elbow, tank spacers & clutch kit will help with some reliability without complete tear down. If racing is your avenue then: FMF full system is the hot ticket with PC5 + autotune, Zipty crank and head mods. We are working on an upgraded coolant pump for the 310R as well.

MPE: What did they do to ur suspension and was it very expensive?

Not sure if you know, but, MPE are a Husky dealer. I picked up my bikes from there and the suspension was done in the deal. Its sprung for my weight and revalved. Everyone who rides my bike raves about the suspension, it is really that good.
I think it is worth approx. $600 for this to be done if you take your bike in. Best just email them and get a quote: http://www.mpesuspension.com.au/contact/

Steering damper... I've thought about these but not sure if I really need one or if they'd work with my bar clamp setup. I'd still like to try one.

Rekluse... also thought about this and concluded that I actually like using the clutch!

Agreed!

Thanks for the info, I can see these bits in my near future.

I just bought a Motoz Tractionator Enduro I/T for the front, that should cure my tinkering bug... for a few minutes.

Do what you want to do to your bike but nothing other than more and more seat time will make you a real dirt bike rider ... Anything else and you might be a drugstore cowboy :) ... And that all too bad if you rode into town on the right horse ...

Where to put money? Putting mine into a ROTH IRA and into 401Ks that was rolled over into a 'roll-over IRA' and rolled a second time into the ROTH account has worked out AOK so far...Putting money into a bike never payed much back to me ...

Oh man.. I thought enduro replica stickers made me a real dirt bike enduro racer dude?

 I hear ya. A few weeks back, I tied that horse to the trailer, drove 3 hours to a moto park and rode Saturday/Sunday... all with a torn hamstring. I got the Ibuprofen and redbull from the drugstore.

The stickers work wonders till ya gotta put the rubber to the dirt ...then it is rider time only :)

Alcohol (not the rubbing kind) is a good pain reliever also but has side effects also such as becoming lead karaoke singer and table-top dancer for the given night ...

Dial it in and ride.

Bike was dialed in on the first weekend and left as is. 1000kms now and some shed time is needed for a good clean and regrease. Just thought I could add a powerband or two while I was at it. :)

I don't know why people rave about the Rekluse. Seems like the biggest waste of money you can do on a bike. It's like saying you would pay extra for an Automatic over Manual/Stick shift in a car. I have always been willing to pay extra if the car has a Manual Shifter. Not the other way around

You still choose when to shift and can use the clutch when you need it. I think it's awesome and have used one on a friends bike once but I'm to cheap. With all the electric start bikes now it takes away from the best part about a rekluse anyway lol

I hear ya, to me, spending $500-800 plus labor to put an automatic in my dirt bike just seems wasteful to me. And if my wife found out, be in the dog house for quite awhile.

Plus, I feel like I'm cheating myself everytime I ride my bike ;)

What is the performance increase with these mods ?

Reminds me of my days in Subic Bay. Darn alcoholic punch will get you everytime.
