    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

UK spec headlight?

I'm getting my 610 registered in the UK. The paperwork says I need a "fully UK specification left-dipping headlight." I checked the parts catalog and there doesn't appear to be anything regarding LHS/RHS headlights, and I couldn't find much on the forums. Anyone with suggestions or experiences in this?
 
I believe all street legal Husky's headlights are euro spec. That's why we dislike them here in the states!
 
its a slight bias towards the left so not to dazzle oncoming traffic.
doesnt really matter with most mot testers.
 
Do you UK guys have lots of people driving around with ridiculously bright and incorrectly aimed headlights?

I get overwhelmed by other peoples headlights constantly, and even people behind me seem to often have headlights so bright that my mirrors blind me when I'm in my truck.

I live in Canada, and the safety inspection here is usually pretty slack.
 
There was a problem with early CCM 644s that had continetal headlights fitted. They had to have the triangular part of the lens gaffer taped. Easy to remove for continental touring.
 
yes Borgschulze i blimin do, i drive a 24yr old peugeot 205 gti an the lights are like 1 candle power, i get dazzled so bad i have to stop on some of the lanes as no refelctive bits to see where the hell the road is, like two small suns burning out my retinas!
i tries a 18500 lumen ridgid industries rip off but i blew the two diodes in the control unit, think my regulator is kicking out ac but have no way of checking.
 
In the last couple months, I've noticed even truckers have ridiculously over powered headlights now.

I've flashed my high beams now on a handful of truckers because I literally couldn't see anything except their headlights.
 
That's how california is. A bunch of cheap HID light bulbs in incandescent housings. The napa flea market makes a killing off of those cheap blue lights. I like to pull my flash to pass and keep both high and low beams pointed in there direction when there coming toward me. Illegal HID bulbs! When they flash there high beams at you, you can see again due to not having properly working headlights. They don't look cool. They look like cheap Chinese junk coming at you.

Oregon too! You can tell the cheap ones from the real ones. The cheap ones put out light in every direction. The real ones depending on the angle of the oncoming vehicle can go from really bright to tolerable. Dont think they are legal. I flash my brights all the time as well. Cant wait to get my LEDs on my bike....

But if you ever lose an emitter, they're about $100, vs ~$25 for a Silverstar Ultra. Ballasts can be found on Ebay for ~$25

I saw some guy the other day with some with some unknown led off road lights and all I could say was " holy crap". I have been wanting some myself, and damn I want them more now!

ADVMonster or TeslaLED light pods. 1500-3600 lumen depending on model. Obnoxiously bright.

I like those, they're roughly the same price as the ADV monster version, but with a tougher mount.

I didn't put a dimmer on my 2000 lumens, I tied them into the hi beam, which I don't use around town if there are other drivers on the road.
I've got a Silvertar Ultra H4 in the headlight, so that does OK on low beam.
