  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TXC449 Oil cooler?

That's a cool adapter. I am surprised it dosn't cost more. I don't need one, I don't ride that hard. But thanks for offering them.

Thanks. They do cost more to make just one, I am selling each of them at a bulk price, just wish I had more to offer.

I take it that these filters are 'permanent' with some sort of cleaning protocol? I am interested but need more info on the filters themselves.

Clean them the same way you clean your current steel oil filters. You can uses soap and water too.

I have completed a new design for the water cooled heat exchanger to fit the 449 engines. Prototype production will start soon. :)

All adapter units are now sold out. I am in current production of a new oil breather, when complete I will finish the oil cooler project.

I ordered a heat exchanger today. Should arrive sometime this week. I will have to design mounting and figure out fitting layout. This one isn't too heavy. I could make one that would be much lighter, but the btu heat exchange would be far lower. I am hoping for a 30 degree heat drop and another 400cc of oil capacity

The heat exchanger came in today, looks slightly different than what is pictured above. I measured the oil capacity increase with the use of this heat exchanger and it was only 75cc. Luckily I found a one way valve which will contain the oil in the heat exchanger and not allow it to drain back.

One-Way Check Valves will prevent the flow back of fuel, coolant or oil. The Teflon® flapper is designed to operate and last longer in the harshest environments with minimal flow restriction. Compatible with most fuels (including alcohol, methanol and bio-diesels), coolants and oils. Made in USA. Features:
  • Less restrictive hinged flapper design with Teflon® flapper and double coiled stainless steel torsion spring
  • Internal leakage less than 1 D.P.M. (drip per minute)
  • 5 PSI opening pressure
  • Operating pressure range 5-1500 PSI
  • Operating temperature -30° to 400° F
