• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TXC/TC Lighting Kits - Is there a market?

ScottyR

Husqvarna
AA Class
My mechanic has been making up ready to install lighting kits for 08/09TXCs and TCs for our shops use. He includes a nice UFO headlight, the same UFO LED tail-light that comes with the TE perf kit, a brake light switch and a wiring harness that plugs into the stock bike without any cutting or soldering. The TC kits come with a voltage regulator as well.

I was just looking at his completed product and was thinking that there may be a market for these if the price was right.

Does anyone think that these ready to install kits with complete instructions are marketable to TXC/TC owners?

Thanks
Scotty

A headlamp and tail light is very interesting. Like I8AKTM last summer would have been really cool. Mine is lit with a headlamp only.

Mine is just the opposite...bought a box of new stock parts from a normally top notch dealer that were supposed to complete the job, but none of the harnesses plugged into anything, and didn't even send the bulb fixture/pigtail for the headlight....not happy with that waste of money.

Hooked up the tail/stop light but the headlight is still just for looks. Thinking of selling it and picking up the Trailtech unit, but the #@%* economy has all but shut down my side work/fun money tree.

The complete kit shouldnt cost that much.

UFO Light $89 CDN retail
UFO tail-light $49 CDN retail
Brake light switch $25 CDN retail
Misc wires, connectors and plugs $30?

I am thinking $199 CDN ($160 US) allows my guy to make the harness with the plugs and connectors and still make a little bit for his time.

That's completely reasonable...I paid more than that for the hodgepodge of parts that I got, and still not functional.

Side note- was in SoCal this summer with the bike, and didn't realize until recently that I was staying less than 20 miles from Baja Designs....wouldn't have had to jack around with any of this crap. :banghead: :censored: :banghead:

I got one and it is very easy to install and look great.

A wiring harness would definitely be cool. The thing I don't like about most "street legal" kits, though, is that I rarely like the headlight/taillight/turnsignal or some combination of those things. It would be really cool if he offered the parts separately as well.

Ok maybe im out of the loop, but does the TC come with a stator with enough power to run a light?
