  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TXC 511 question

In my ever quest to make my TXC 511 as much as a dual sport as possible, I found the need of needing a keyed ignition or hidden ignition cut off. Any ideas as to what and how I could accomplish this. I have a set of SM wheels now and well I would like to be able to zip around town on it a bit. I understand it will not make it much more secure but it will give me a little piece of mind.

the SMR 511 has a keyed ignition. Does anyone know if it would be possible to just buy an ignition from husky and plug it directly in to a TE511 or TXC511? drdfblackm, does your dash on your TXC have the little circular spot on the top right where the ignition goes? My TE does, so adding the stock lock cylinder would be e breeze, but I have no idea where or if it would plug in. I understand why they did not put a keyed ignition on the TXC, but with the TE being street legal from the factory, they definitely should have put that option on it.

why not just add a deadman switch?
all you need to do is find the hot wire to the starter button a intercept it with a switch that you can locate in a hidden spot.
i have one on my txc449

Thanks Tinken. I have replied on the other thread. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
