  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

So I have a 13' WR300 right now and love it. I also have a 570 husaberg I'm looking to sell, I really like this bike but it isnt a great bike for tight hare scrambles but I have used it for that before,,haha. Im looking for a 300 series 4t and the deals on these 310r's have me wondering.

I'm thinking of trading the 570 for a 14'310r but I'm a little nervous the 310 will leave me wanting way more in the power department since I've heard comments like the 310 wont loft the front end and stuff like that?? I'm a 220lb guy so every bit of power i can get is great.
We have a couple guys in our district who dominate on the 310r's so I know they are great bikes just would like to know a heavy old guy could get away with ridding one.

I'm wondering if I can boost the little 310 up enough to get it in the same ball park as my 300?

I'm wondering if I will ever get the hole shot on a dead start race? How fast do they kick start/button start?

Thanks for any info!

I can only comment on the 250 but mine fires up very quickly, I often get the hole shot leaving the kickers on the line for a good second.

I am 6'2 225lbs I just bought a txc310 It seems to pick up the front end fine I got the power up and un corked the muffler I am comming off a 450 and the power is very good and it is much lighter you will need new springs if you are over 200lbs

I'm 230 and have spent a ton of time on a 2012 310. I actually prefer the 449 but that's because I'm lazy. When you're working for it on the 310 it will make you feel like a hero. I still suck and have been riding since I was 4 so take my options however you want lol. The best way to describe it is it's like riding a forgiving 250. You don't have to be perfect to still do what you want. It's the kind of bike that will make anyone better

310r has a great balance of power and handling. Perfect for tight stuff.
I'm 235lbs and enjoy riding my 310r more than my previous txc510.
Lofting the front wheel? No problem... Just flick the clutch

Thanks for the info. I usually get first or second out of the hole on every race with my wr300 kicker but with the Berg it's push button only and I would be 3rd or worse with it since it takes about 2 seconds to start.

Thanks for the other replies as well. Sounds like I could expect the power of a good running 2 stroke 250 with better torque? I'm getting that the 310 wont have the power of the 300 but with exhaust could it be in between a 250 and a 300?

Are there any other performance mods for the 13/14 Txc 310r other than an exhaust kit? Better fuel map? Ignition map switch?

Yes on the comparison to 250 2 stroke .....similar top end, better powerband.

Upgrade to 'open pipe/Leo Vince ' map with FMF pipe for a bit more everywhere.
