    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

TXC 310 new starter issue help

I have been riding a 13 Redhead for about 500 miles before the oem starter failed. Love the bike.
Received the free replacement gears from Husky and then had a local dealer install them.
Today was the first ride with the new gears. Was a epic riding day and I was haveing a blast. The bike was running awesome and the LTR suspension was magic. Had stalled the bike several times and it lit right up. About the 4th time I stalled it. It would not start. The starter motor just made a spinning noise. The real rub came when I tried to kick start it. Before,when the oem starter failed the bike would kick start very easy and no problem bump starting. Now it won't kick start,estart or bump start ! I have a msg into the dealer. What are your thoughts ? There was plenty of fuel and the battery was strong.
 
Mine does this sometimes too. Try to kick it and hit the starter at the same time. Have the exhaust valve clearance checked and you may want to consider getting a stronger battery. These rascals are a pain when they get hot!

Your are correct. Called him this morning and he had the answer. The shop that installed the updated starter gears did not tighten the flywheel correctly. Came loose. No flywheel,no way to start it.
Relief. Ordered the $4 dollar part and will be able to do it myself.
