  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

txc 250 vs 310

Husqvarna
AA Class
how big of a difference is there between the 250 and 310 txc? Same peak hp, but get there differently, or is 250 softer everywhere?

250 is noticeably softer everywhere. The 310 is at the point where it has the more power but still let's you get away with a lot.

New 310 is the go! Better grab one, cause guess some dealers are sold out and there is a waiting list.

The power is broader accross the board vs. the 250. The 250 will get you anywhere your skill can and still be fun. Big question, will you be racing and what class?

For me, the class doesn't matter. I would be Vet, or if I raced serious, maybe back to AA. I just want the bike to be fast, and I have no problem with revving the engine (I enjoy high strung, modded 125s!).

I rode both bikes back to back this summer. I have a 2010 TE 310, and was only going to ride the 310, but I tried the 250 anyway. I am glad I did, because the 250 felt much lighter, but did not give up anything, except possibly some very low speed grunt, which I thought was not worth the slightly heavier feel of the 310.

I also rode a tc250 with a different mapping, and I believe tuned with iBeat that was truly unbelievable. If you can get a txc 250 tuned to the way you ride, then I would not bother getting a 310. With that said, I did not ride a 310 that was tuned....

Just re-read your post - I was referring to the 2012's, and you might be asking about the 2013's--those bikes seem to be much different from all I have read. Sorry if I goofed you up with my response.

I had 2010 250 which had some work done to it and I much prefer the 2011 on 310 - more everywhere. More fun in my opinion as it has more useable power. My 310 is slightly lighter than the 250 with a lighter TTX shock and same Leo vince exhaust . More exciting to ride . Better on hills
