  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TXC 250 questions

I just got a 09 TXC 250 yesterday (traded my WR250 for it) the guy I got it from has done most of the heavy lifting to get it prepped. There are a few more things......

1)How long can you go on the stock gas tank.
A)It will be used by a b class Midwest harescrambles rider.
B)We need enough fuel to go 2 hours. Since there's no reserve, we don't want to run out of gas.
C) does the ims tank for the 08-09 (carbed) have integrated shrouds? (not a fan of those)

2) kickstand? I've seen threads for the Motorsportz stand, but their all old and it's not listed on the motosportz website either.

3) steering dampers, Scott's or Motorsportz ?

4) what batteries are guys running? I've had ok results with shorai, my local guy likes the cv4

If there are other issues I should know PLEASE let me know. I've only had one other husky 4 t (09 te310) slim open for advise.

I have a 2009 TXC 250 as well. I ran a 43 mile mountain trail loop and calculated the remaining fuel from the tank to get max of 55 miles on the stock tank. Of course that's most lugging in first and second gear.

Ask Kelly at Motosportz if he still has the kickstand. Highly recommend it. Just don't sit or bend it too much or it will break the lower chain roller flanges off like on mine. DOH

NE Wisconsin..cool. I'm in central WI. You racing WIXC or D16? I've been riding an 08 TXC250 and I think it will make about 2:10 at race pace but I get so nervous that I normally stop. I've got a Scott's underbar type and I can't get it to fit even after carving the front off the tank. There are some frame welds that prevent the post clamp from being secure.

I raced WIXC all last year but want to try some D16 hare scrambles and enduros. I go to school at UW-stout so maybe some D23 stuff too.

I have a 2010 250 Txc with the stock tank and i run a few D-16, D-23 harescrambles and enduro's and i can get between 40 to 43 miles per tank.

In case no one figured it out, SuamicoEXC is my son.

Ha! I spent a few extra seconds going back and forth looking at the use names wondering!

I have an 11 TE 250 and race D23 enduros geting no more than 50 miles per tank. The 11 does have a larger tank than the 09. I think the 10 TXC is an xlite too with a slightly larger tank?

2010 TE 250 has a 1.4 us gallon tank. as my friend found out!
about 50 miles as said by Jason from MN.
My son's 2011 is 2.4 us I think.
