  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Txc 250 2012 Break in Period

I just bought a leftover 2012 and apparently there was suppose to be a usb with the Use and Maintenance Manual inside. I didn't get that, and i was just wondering what was recommended to do to break in the bike. Thanks

Would you happen to be in Salt Lake? I just bought a 2012 TC250 and had the same thing - no USB. But, since I have been surfing around the web looking for these things for a couple of weeks, you are in luck as this is all fresh in my mind.

The Husqvarna site actually has a PDF you can download the manual for your bike. Here is the link:
http://www.husqvarna-motorcyclesna.com/manuals.php

Also, here is a link for the shop manual. Although, the manual only goes up to 2011, I still downloaded a copy as there was some good information that is still pertinant. I have spent the day learning about how to adjust the forks.

For initial break in, as recommended in the manual, for the first half hour just ride around casually, no sudden acceleration (tough to do, I love my new bike and all I wanted to do was open the throttle and see what it will do). After you have ridden two hours, change the oil and filter. It also said that after two hours, begin to gradually increase the acceleration but still don't go full throttle.

After 4 hours, go tear it up! But, don't crash, I did and now I am off work for a couple of weeks and all I can do is read stuff on the web about the bike. Watching videos posted by other riders out having fun.

Actually I live in Pennsylvania. I'm going to call the shop today and ask about it just because. Anyway, thank you! I spent around an hour riding casually yesterday until I ended up getting a flat! Luckily I have an extra tube from one of my bikes before that fit. Thanks for your help tho and good luck getting back to riding, that's a huge tease to get a new bike and not be able to ride it!
