As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
are you running a 40mm carb or a 38
is your timing at 2.2 or retarded to 1.9mm BTDC
the 82 cr500 was max hp at 7k according to the magazine dyno . has a graph etc .intersting that peak torque and hp are within 1000 rpm of each other .
but then i see in the "slavens ported 500" thread someone claims the maths on the porting adds up to max power at 9k
cool . yeah i wasnt trying to imply what u were saying was incorrect or Gospel .
what do the other big bore 2 strokes rev out too ? is it realistic for something as under square as the husky 500 to stay together and/or make good power at 9k ?
have you been able to compare them? The gnarly on my 360 is better throughout rev range and half the price of dynoport by the time it would have gotten to me, humm big bore 2 stroke i need one cr 500... I want one
Hello.
Anyone here tried to get some more rpm out of the L/C CR500.
When riding on the street the maximum 6500RPM is a bit low.
The cylinder has high duration times so the pipe is the issue.
Is there any aftermarket pipes I can buy?
Kind Regards
Don't forget the option of a larger front sprocket. With the extra torque and horsepower we can add a larger tooth front sprocket and take back some rpm and add more speed while lowering the rpm.
Nope i couldnt justify two expansion chambers, i ment the gnarly has more everywhere over the stock specs pipe.have you been able to compare them?
would be nice if pro circuit made pipes for swedes that were still available. dp still has them for all lc huskies up to early 2000s
