• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Tucson DS ride Sunday Nov-24

SilverBullet

Husqvarna
AA Class
Anybody in the Tucson area up for Mt. Lemmon area ride on the Sunday after Thanksgiving, Nov-24. We will be starting and ending at the base of Mt. Lemmon, Catalina Hwy entrance. Plan to ride some elevation and also hit the dirt roads around the other side and touch on the OHV trails that I have seen in previous visits. Maybe swing around Oracle if not too cold? I am not from the area so really would be nice to have a local or two to ride with and show us the best routes. Myself and a buddy are passing through Tucson from Texas on our way to ride LA-Barstow-Vegas.

The day after, Monday Nov-25 we will be riding the Florence Coke Ovens so anybody want to ride that with us also? From Florence we are then heading straight to Vegas and parking the car and trailer and riding the bikes off road across the desert to OC. Spending Thanksgiving In OC and then riding the bikes to Palmdale for LA-Barstow-Vegas ride and back across the desert to our haul rig in Las Vegas.

Damn! That's alot of miles before you start the BtoV! What size bike are you riding?
I was whooped after doing the LA-BtoV on a TE 450, We rode at race speeds and still got there way after dark. The key is not to spend much time BS'n every time you stop.
I guess it will depend on what sections you take. Enjoy!
I hope you get some good pics for us! Walter

TE630 and my buddy rides a BMW 650 X-Challenge. Neither one of us smokes, fiddles with GPS much and limited or no photo taking so not planning too long or too many stops. Planning on a very early start and probably not taking any "long ways" either.
