• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Trying to contact a moderator regarding sponsorship.

Hi everyone,

My name is Erik. I won an Husqvarna Nuda 900 and a Husqvarna SM630. I have been quite active on the 900nuda forum lately. I work at a motorcycle dealership where I manage two webshops (a Husqvarna webshops and a specialized Nuda webshop) and help managing two others (MV Agusta webshop and Ducati webshop). I won't post the links in respect for the sponsors.

I have been trying to contact someone responsible for the CafeHusky sponsorship for a couple of weeks now. Sadly I haven't received a response so far. So now I will try contacting the proper people this way!

:)

"Husqvarna Webshop" Internet parts sales maybe? Is that what he's talking about or does he mean another riders forum?

By the way, the question should be, does this forum have Moderators that we as basic "lowly" members can actually contact?

Yes, I see them listed to the right on the home page when they may be online.

Even got contacted by one in the past, more than once in fact but not when I and a few others were trying to contact anyone of them. They seem to get ahold of you when they need to, not the other way around from my experience.

This is the worst moderated forum I came across so far. A pity really as it has good information and members.
I tried for the last 2 months to get hold of someone as my posts always await moderation for days - weeks. The post is hardly relevant anymore or when I try to help a member they can't see the post or miss it as it appears a week later.
No response or solution so far.
I'm an admin at another forum and we have our day to sort things out. One admin and one mod per day at least. One of us always take over if anyone is away or so.
If you can't find 7- 14 people to help out it is very sad.

And how many spam post does the forum you moderate get, we've had 10K in a weeks time.. Since you say you moderate you should know what a pain
spam can be. I agree we need more moderators, but we don't have many

i think there are a few few people here who arent mods but would be willing to step up and help. people that are on here quite a bit. who can be contacted about that?

If you think this forum is the only one who gets spam you are mistaken my friend! I can't count the amount spam we get and the number of IP addresses I have blocked since I became an admin on superduke.net!

What is a Husqvarna Webshop?

The online sales of parts, accessories and merchandise. :)
But the level of moderation that this forum receives is stunning. Especially because this is the largest Husky community on the World Wide Web!
I agree that spam is quite a large issue to deal with but there has to be a better solution. How are larger forums on the web handling it?
Also it is quite annoying that I have to wait 1-3 weeks before a post is approved.

The owner of this site is a great administrator but he seems to be MIA. I think there is one or two administrators here still but it mostly seems to have gone dark and we are flying blind. Sad to see and I fear this site will end someday in the not so distant future. I ahve contacted some people that should know and they don't know either, does not look good.

I had a dream that this site was taken over by Zip Ty Racing. IMO provides a social and technical forum that keeps the eyeballs where they should, on the Husqvarna products, then and now. Can be a write off to maintain if a loss, but if kept as a loose affiliation can still benefit from existing sponsors and dealers if handled right. Forums such as this keep a user tied into those that support the brand while the manufacturers move to new models. Like consolidation everywhere, businesses need a forum or discussion group that can work both ways... Inform the consuming public and be a window into the users/racers/customers needs and wants, which can help in developing a new products and bolster it's development of same as has been the case with many products already. Clearly it's going to take all of Tinken's time and someone else's but... If this site is going away it should be passed to an entity that can benefit a growing company and growing user base at the same time not drop kick an entire user group.

That was just a dream I had... Nothing more

thats a nice dream almost as good as mine where my wife gives birth to dirt bikes which she might hafta do if this site dies we will both be like :cry::cry::cry::cry:

Kelly, don't you have coffee's number? There is plenty of us who are willing to do what we can to help, including me.

the number I have does not work any more. I have tried contacting him many times via many methods and no response. He does not post here either. So... :excuseme:

- Just looked, no posts since May 4 2014.

Yikes. I took some time away from forums in general, because real-life had me so busy. I had no idea Coffee was MIA.

The sky isn't falling just yet. Last I spoke to Coffee (within a few weeks) he was trying to get some things in his personal life settled. Home construction I believe. He had every intention of getting back here to get things back on track. Hopefully soon he can give this place the attention it needs.
