  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

trottle getting stuck?

zok511

Husqvarna
C Class
Hi all,
just took the sm511 out and noticed the trottle getting stuck at times?
anybody had this? same thing on the te too? sort of stays on for a bit pushing you into a corner? got no hand guards only barend mirrors could this cause it? yet it started a while back but went away, now fitted JD and its back??any help would be good thanks.

I have never had bar end mirrors but imagine they could interfere with the throttle tube- ensure you have proper clearance. Ensure your cables are not binding anywhere and are of proper adjustment for slackness- also verify they are both functioning and the bullet ends are connected to the throttle wheels. Ensure you have no Fraying near the ends. SOmetimes- you can create and take away binding with slight adjustments (make sure you have none at full lock left/right. Lubing cables is good to do but is probably not gonna solve it.

Bar end mirrors and hanguards can easily snag. On my 630, I had the same problem with the twist grip. Tried everything and then the answer came on another Cafe Husky thread. If yours has got the same twin cables, loosen one of the tension nuts at the lower end (behind the screw-on lid) and re-adjust the tension there so that there´s 1mm of play on the twist grip. Voila!

(And then all that HUSKYnXJnWI said is also valid)

I had this on my txc but it was the throttle body. Mine would idle very high on occasion. For no apparent reason. I have heard people reset there TPS and also adjust idle with brass screw on left side of the throttle body.

thanks ppls, adjusted brass screw 2 3/4 turns out but havent taken slack out of cables yet?
ill try that and get back too all.....
with bar end they been on for a while but problem just recent.

remove the black cover over the cables on the throttle body---start ya engine and rev it up and down
notice the electric driven cam against throttle arm--mine was holding it open for a second or so when throttle was in closed position
I just removed the arm --problem fixed & BIKE HAS RUN FINE since
best talk to you dealer & see what he recons first but
