  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Has anyone tried the Husky Hard Parts adjustable offset triple clamps? I've had enough of the slow handling on my 09 TXC450.

So no one has used these or heard any reports on them? Somebody has to have tried something!!!

subscribed, but I know of no one who has used them. What are the spec's? How will they improve handling? Angle etc...?

I have a set and while they are trick, I have never changed the offset. I think they may be a degree or two different than the stock but to be honest it was hard to notice a difference. This was on a '10 TXC 250 that had no handling issues to begin with. I will tell you they are a PIA to change the offset as I think the stem has to come out in order to change the spacers. I got them used and no instructions were supplied. Halls may know something about them.

Found out that the stock offset is 25mm. The hard parts clamps are adjustable between the stock offset of 25mm and 15mm. A kit is available to make the offset 20mm. All of this for the low low price of about $900!! I can't justify that.
I'll have to keep an eye out for some used ones too.

I wound up testing (Thanks Al) and buying an E axle from Eaton Motor Sports. For $200 I can now adjust the handling of my bike in a couple of minutes with a couple of wrenchs (8mm and 13mm).
This is a great product and very well made too. It's also one of the few bolt on items that you can immediately notice a difference in.
If you are like me and can't get the front end of your Husky to stick, this product can save you a lot of soil samples. I stated above that the bike was slow handling but that's not really true. It just wanted to let go when pushing hard through the trees. It wasn't a push either, it would just slip out from under you at the most inopportune times. I'm talking feet up, attack position, head over the front plate and WHOOSH, the front end is gone and your on your face. This was very discouraging to say the least.
With the E axle installed, I was able to increase the trail and put more weight on the front tire and this made a huge difference.
I really liked my bike but this issue with the front end had me riding my sons 200 most of the time and contemplating selling the Husky. I just had no confidence in it and quite frankly, it was scaring me.
Not anymore. Now the Husky is the bike I hoped it would be. Loving it because of this great product!!!:thumbsup:

I have found that a tire can cause just what you are talking about. I found this condition on every brand that I have rode with a questionable front tire. I always make sure I have a good tire that is suitable for the terrain and that seems to cure the problem. I have rode buddies bikes with crappy tires and the first thing I tell them when I get off of the bike is get a good tire unless you like getting up off of the ground.

I know what you mean Rancher. I'm very picky about tires and although it wasn't in the posts above, I tried four different tires. None of them are worn out because I kept pulling them off and trying another. I am currently using the one that I believed to be the worst performer of the bunch with no problems.
God bless the E Axle****************************************

I found on my 310, tire pressure is a factor. Not that it will wash out but the oppisite, too much bite when going below 10 psi.
