• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Trip to oz for a month. Wanna show me what youve Got to offer?

is the arrival time still on track ?
conditions for riding are getting better each week

Yup still coming from the 22 may till june 19, will double check dates but im sure they are locked down now.
Will be awesome just not having to stress over work the house n fixing cars... Let alone bumming a ride from some freindly locals with the knowledge of the tracks.

Conditions have been very good here like its ramping up to let us acclimatise easier.

If you were able to make it up to the mid New South Wales north coast, we have a charity ride (May 30th & 31st) organised there with some brilliant riding up behind Coffs Harbour.

Cheers for the offer danger but as it is we have under a month and are hiring a car driving from melbourne to sydny, sydny to port lincon then to perth then melborne.. Bout 5k miles and not too much time to fit more in.
Sounds like fun tho and im looking forward to the break.

Should be a good drive :)
Enjoy.
I've done the Nullarbor crossing 3 times before.
Love looking off the Great Australian Bight.
The plains just end right there & fall into the sea!
If you have enough time while heading to Perth, call in on Esperance.
Magical blue sea and whiter than white silica sand.
Beautiful.

Is that refered too as the end of the earth? Definetly going to be doing as much relaxing/ sighting as poss.
It certainly looks like it when you're standing there :)

Esperance is a must see :oldman: arguable the best coastline in the south hemisphere.

the following is based on visits 18 years ago.
try to avoid Busselton in WA (more eyes then teeth in that town)
try to avoid Dubbo in NSW (some really dogy suburbs in that town)
try to avoid Sea spray in VIC (plain big time boring)

besides that you have to less time

You will certainly have your work cut out, that's a fair bit travel packed in.
Great stuff.

A lot of people imagine our island nation to be fairly small, but it's just the population that is small.809267035_bPdes-M.jpg
