  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Tried Filling My TE310 Up at the Pump...

...and couldn't top off because of gas spraying all over the place. Is there a trick to this, or am I stuck fueling from cans?

You need to push the nozzle to one side, either side will do, point it at the middle and it will go everywhere. You also won't be able to fill as fast as your car, take it slowly and you'll be fine.

Yah happens to me all the time on my 2010 TE 250. You have to fill it slowly, unfortunately, not all gas stations allow slower pumps... Pushing nozzle to side sometimes works but it's definitely one of the trickier tanks I had to fill.

LOL... First time aimed it straight in or forward left and came flying out. Oh crap going to ignite the gas station! Run...

Look at the shape of the tank and what's inside. Aim into the deep parts of the tank to both sides.

1) hold up the foreskin or the gas won't flot
2) You probably can't run at max flow, you'll need to ease off on the lever
3) pointing the nozzle at an angle can help reduce spash back

I would hope they fix some of the angling in the gas tank in later models, my 2010, even if I point the nozzle to the side and go slow it'll still splash out. It's like that Dumb and Dumber scene... but you get off your nice, slick italian looking motorcycle - being all impressive - then fill up the gas tank looking around only to realize it's splurting all over the place.. hahaha
