  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FE/FC Tricked out hour meter bracket I made

Had a program made and plasma cut a couple to try out. Think it turned out nice, just didn't like my other options. I'm sure someone would have or has already done this but I have a couple guys testing it out.

that hourmeter must be faulty-should be showing at least 40 hours not minutes! go get that thing dirty:D. looks good but i never have any luck mounting hourmeters anywhere they can get wet when riding washing-they always seem to shite themselves or display fades away from being in sun or water ingression. tried several different brands(all same style as yours-made in same chinese factory then different name printed on-so cynical i know). did what someone else did on here & mounted under seat on subframe rail. much less chance of getting wet & out of sun. but hey im still diggin ya factory hourmeter mount man:thumbsup:

What's wrong with the stock speedo?
thought you took your damper off?

Stock Speedo doesn't do Hours, only does speed (mph/km), Trip ( a couple). Odometer, clock, service intervals, and avg speed

I took the mount and damper off the top but wanted to be absolutely sure thats what I wanted before taking off the neck mount cuz Its more of a pain to take off lol..

Under the seat is a good idea, with these new bikes it takes removing a couple bolts to get under the seat since the air filter is on the side now so just thought it a little more convenient to get it mounted somewhere else. I had the meter on my italian bike mounted in almost the same place but attached to the frame. I had pretty good luck with them holding up but will have to keep an eye on it, sounds like you've had a few go bad!

Actually I believe trailtech makes these right up the road from me here in Battleground WA. All their stuff was originally made in china, maybe some still is but they have a big shop and assembly line and manufacturing and I think most of their stuff is made in house now. Its a very nice shop.

same style as Chums K? are they on their website? quite like trailtechs gear & customer service has been good for me so i may look into them. i just bought a couple of ebay from china for like $30 posted as the more expensive ones look exactly the same & ive had 3 fail on me from 2 'different' brands. damn chinese ones didnt even give me a zip tie or double sided tape-get what ya pay for huh! yeah Chums id keep the pressure washer away & even garden hose on full pelt too(what i use). maybe clear shrink wrap might be the go. i think the sun got to a couple of em when mounted on frame near headstock & summer sun directly on it when sitting in ute. doesnt do LCD displays much good i believe/know!

Your speedo should have a display that shows average speed, odometer and" ART" (ART is operating hours) mine does page 24 in your owners manual.

Man, thanks guys I completely missed that little blip about the art! Well I have a backup that I can see at any time now I guess lol. Thought it odd the computer didnt have an hour meter, just chalked it up to the big corporation milking me for more money haha...

the run time & accumulated run time feature on the aftermarket trailtech endurance 2's(basically same as new ktm/husky i believe) only record when the front wheel is rotating so if youre just sitting there idling it doesnt record, but if you wheel your bike around at home with motor off it does! youd be surprised how quick time adds up when youre just idling/not moving when riding(warm up/waiting/talking/having a drink/picking lines etc.). may not be the case on oem bikes with batteries/different wiring but just a heads up. check both your hourmeters when idling Chums & see?!
