• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Transmission oil 1976 WR 360

i like to stick with a full synthetic unless you have an application that requires you dont..the manual calls for 20w motor oil so i use amsoil 10w30 motorcycle oil. rotella white and blue jug diesel oil is actually jaso rated for wet clutches and many have reported long engine and tranny life in bikes on and off road it so thats probably a good option as well...many here have also had good luck with mobil one if you use a non friction modified weight..

Type F ATF has gotten my 73 125WR over 10k hard miles on the original clutch and transmission.
There might be better oils now...but I'll stick with what has worked for me.
I also use it in primary chain/clutch cases of vintage Brit bikes.

Hi Guys,

Oil technology has changed a lot in the years since the bike was made, I would suggest any of the oils that have been

recommended will be fine, I would choose the cheapest and change after every ride.

Frequent oil changes are the key!

If you would like my recommendation a base mineral oil suited for petrol and light diesels, 15w-30.

Just make sure it is suitable for wet clutches.

Racing you could use ATF and change after every race meet.

Oil is relatively cheap, parts are expensive!

Cheers, DaveM.

Mobil 0W40 - similar to using ATF

cafe husky is the ONLY place i have seen oil threads take place where people just share what they know and no one gets mad..its pretty amazing really.
I'm not too sure about that. The first time I even mentioned 0W40, I was sure they were going to Tar & Feather me, maybe even burn me at the stake. :D

atf f is for sure excellent for clutch feel and shifting...i worry tho if its as good as a heavier weight at protecting gears and such...stays clean looking too

mate.... a 7 Litre V8 pushes pretty hard on those gears in an auto and the turbo series of autos are pretty bullet proof with ATF...don't think a little alloy piston is gunna frighten its shear capacity too much
