Hi everyone,
As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

My guess is that it won't take you long to devise a skid plate.
The plan is to get one and start building stuff ASAP.

That's the dry weight. It's 408 fully fueled and ready to ride. Gas tank is 13.5l, or 3.57gallons. The bike weighs about 20lbs less than the BMW G650GS that it is based on.
I think they're interesting bikes. I personally have no need for one, but I can see their appeal to others. I'd love to get a demo ride, or even better, a 3 day weekend demo to really test one out.

this says 368 lbs unladen weight, ready to ride for the US version (maybe no ABS and crap) And 3 gallons??? Also 60 torque at 5700 RPM and 105 mph
Read the whole document... it's 400+lbs. It doesn't say unladen weight anywhere on that page. But if you review the entire document, you'll see that 368 is the dry weight.
The US weight differences aren't 40lbs. They're more like 4lbs.
Do the math. 13.5l is not 3.08 gallons. It's 3.566 gallons.

Are we looking at the same thing? the image i posted above says Unladen weight DIN road ready to the left of the weight and then 368.17 LBS US. all the other figures say about 400 pounbds so your probably right but thats what it says. Also clearly says 3 gallons US. but i would rather have 3.56 so I'll go with you on that

But i bet the quality of the travel is far better. Those spindly conventionals suck and many reports of people changing them out. Also several pictures of the lower part snapping off!!! Also think that bike had the problematic and little loved air shock. This bike seems like an upgrade regardless of length of travel. Also as this is not a real dirt bike lots of travel is not necessary.
Thats the bike i posted and thought would be the platform for this bike a year ago when rumors where flying about the new 650. They went after price point so that aluminum frame and swingarm got the axe. I think those were well over 10K

Maybe they have longer suspension because their rider's tend to load'em with everything plus the kitchen sink...you gotta account for the weighty squat
