• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TR650 skid plate (WOW)

Will bring one with me.
I am looking forward to seeing that. I was holding a Husqvarna version yesterday, and also saw it on Bills TR650. You may want to consider taking a look at that at China Hat...

I've got a hunch you will be selling a bunch of those plates.

I hope soon****************************************! Want to get out in the dirt before the snow flies out here.....

Update, the plates are all machined and at the welders right now. Will go to ano in a day or so and be ready to ship next week. Still don't know the price but it is not going to be cheap. More pix soon.

I can do some in clear ano. The plate is not the nice polished stuff like in the pic so your not going to get a super buffed shinny plate like that if that's what you were hoping. We are using standard plate on this one. I think once people see the black ano they will really like it and it will blend with the bike very nicely.

BTW I only made a small run of the first ones as these are expensive to build and money is tight. Anyone who Emailed me as wanting one get an Email first and then i will release the rest. Just an FYI. Email me if you want on the list.

Ok, I will look at both finished products if you post a pic of both and go with one or the other. Not going to worry to much about polished or not. Thx

Hi Kelly,
Back from a short vaca so back to the grind......Did I miss anything on the skid plate update for the TR like when and how much etc? Thanks!!

Still in process, the holidays are hard to get anything done. Welder is backed up. Hope to have them today for ano.

Done. Taking some to ano today. Sorry about the delay, life (death) got int he way. Back on track and digging out. Raw aluminum ones can ship and I will be posting pix later today. I really think the black ano ones are going to look real smart on the bike. Will update with info and price soon. Will also be emailing those on the list as they get first dibs. thanks and sorry for the wait. Holidays and family issues very much slowed the process.

Hi Kelly,
Thanks for posting the update. Very sorry to hear about your family situation. Can't be easy with everything going on and this time of year. Thanks for the extra effort. Cheers, Dave

Sorry for your troubles, best wishes to you and family.

I think you're gonna sell a good many of these, got a look at the offering from husky on another site, unimpressive to say the least.

I'm on the list for "any color" but you've talked me into a black one if you don't run out before you get to me.
Thanks
Sandy Jackson

I can't believe the Husky plate still leaves the banjo bolt and drain plug exposed - not to mention, it doesn't anchor anywhere at the rear of the plate! I'll have to get on the list pronto. Do we have a ballpark on price yet?

Starting a new thread now with pix and details. This sucker is STOUT and covers all the important stuff.
