• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TR650 Motosportz skid plate "wings"

All, we built a hell for stout CNC machined plate for the TR650 because it weighs 400 pounds and has an oil line sticking out the bottom. This is as much a frame connector / structural part as much a skid plate. We feel this is necessary for this bike. This design left the front of the motor exposed to some gravel blasts. We are currently working on the front protection wings to add on to this skid plate if you feel yo need it. Plan is for them to be done in 2 weeks (mid Feb). Will be semi inexpensive and can be added to any TR650 plate we made.

Thanks
Kelly

approximate cost of finished plate with wings? Things go better with wings!

the wing will be an add on to all the 650 plates we have sold. Should be relativity inexpensive int he $35-$45 range i hope. This gives you the option of running them or not depending on your mission. Many will not need them as they are not doing hard core off road on a 400 pound bike.

Does that mean you won't be offering an alternative complete with wings?
Also just to be clear, are you saying that for under $50 you will provide the wings to existing customers. Which they then have to get fitted? Or did you mean that you would fit wings to existing customers plates plates?

Add on wings for anyone who wants them.

Hi Kelly, I am in Canada and put a deposit down on a Terra with delivery expected in March/April. I would love to see the Red bash plate you had made up for a customer, hope you got a few shots of it or he puts a couple up on this Thread. I am going to buy a plate, not sure what color yet...Thanks for all your hard work on the Terra plate!!

Will the "wings" go up the front more and protect the oil line/water lines ? Do you have a mock up of what it will look like after the wings are on ?
