• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TR650 and Keynamics

Hi Guys, has anybody used Keynamics in the Phillipines and how was their service/turn around time? I am based in South Africa and would like to send my cluster/ECU and key so they can sort it out. I have sent a message and had 1 response but since then it's gone quiet. I read on one of the forums that they are good at replacing the TR650 clusters. Mine is very brittle and the S button gone. I now have to usse a match stick to press the trip counter reset.

I can't say that I really "used" Keynamics, but I did post a question to them on Facebook about my ignition lockout issue on my 2014 TR650 Terra. I can't begin to tell you how much time the motorcycle shop that "created" this ignition lockout problem spent trying to solve the problem, and when they gave up and told me to come pick up my "inoperable" TR650, how much time I spent looking into a solution. Very long story short, Keynamics suggested, via a Facebook return message, that I "short" my ECU case to the negative side of my battery. I had tried just about everything else including checking/cleaning ALL connections in the headlight box area, so I thought what the heck. Well, lo-and-friggin-behold, my EWS ignition lockout issue was gone. Now, with just a simple jumper wire between the case of my ECU and the negative battery terminal, I am up and running after 6 months of bad words!! Maybe something simple like this could work for you!

I added an extra "ground strap" from my ECU to the rear sub-frame many years ago on the advice of WayneC, operator of the Crossroadz website. My bike has been virtually under water and now has nearly 80,000k and is rock solid. I do take a lot of care of the dash as a maintenance item. I open it and check the perimeter seal and always add a dab of sealant around the buttons. Anything to prevent ingress of water.
