  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Tps failure

So after installing jd tuner my bike read fail and was running awful. Couldn't tune it right so I dropped it off to my dealer. I was just told my secondary tps is no good and reading high voltage. They ordered a new one and waiting on the part. Anyone else have this issue? My bike has 30 miles on it and ran fine before the tuner was installed.

How does it run if you take the tuner off? Those tuners manipulate sensor readings in order to influence the mapping. The high voltage might be from that, but I don't know that as fact.

While waiting on the part, I would get the bike back and un-install the tuner and see what happens. Is the bike under warranty? Since you have put a tuner on it, will labor not be covered in the repair cost under warranty?

I accidently/on purpose pulled the adjustable cover off the secondary TPS. I didn't get it back on correctly (Needed some extra attention when going back on). When I fired it up, it idled really high and would not come down. Took it back off and crossed my fingers the 2nd time. Went back to normal and haven't had a problem since (I don't go near that area anymore!). Apparently this FI system allows for TPS adjustments, as noted by the slotted holes in the covers, but I wouldn't touch them!:naughty: I asked about the adjustments and got some info on TPS's that, I thought was good.

I took the tuner off before bringing it to the shop still ran awful. I didn't touch the covers or anything except the plug to install the jd tuner.. Warrantee will cover it only if they don't ask the dealer if a tuner or anything was put on. He said he can't lie for me and tell them I didn't install anything. It's fairly cheap anyways. I just want it running right!

I literally have 30 miles on this bike and I'm
Converting it to supermoto this was the first step and having these issues. Very frustrating

I don't think that's correct. As I understand it, the tuner simply looks at the signal being sent to the injector, and adds or subtracts fuel based on the timing/frequency of that signal. I don't see how it could manipulate any sensor readings.

The mechanic thinks the sensor was faulty and the tuner fried it, he will know more once the new sensor comes in

I wish it was that simple. I bought my bike out of state bc I found it much cheaper. I'm gonna call the place I got it from and see if they'll ship me one from another bike
