  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Top speed for 09 TXC510

Sandgroper

Husqvarna
AA Class
Been checking the top speed in comparison to the front sprocket changes I made and:

14/47 = 135klm hr

15/47 = 165klm hr

Im thinking of going 15/45.

Something doesn't add up, as you only changed the gearing about 7%, but your speed went up about 22%.............??

I agree.
On my TE510, one tooth up front = about 6mph (10 km/h)
Was it suppose to be 153 with 14/47?

My TE510 shows a best of 97 mph on pavement with 14/47 gears? On dirt it varies, but rarely much over 90 MPH.

It was actually slower with 15/47. Couldn't pull it.

Man I have a 09 TXC510 and I din't know it was that fast. This should be good the next time I am at Busco Beach on their long drag strip.

I must ad that I didnt fully push it on 14/47 or 15/47. I was close to max but the vibration made me think the engine was going to self destruct on tarmac at top speed :O
Note I did manage to catch up to a few road bikes that went by at a good pace in no time from stand still. My back tire tells me it doesnt like pavement at these speeds LOL

Hitting these speeds is only for a short period due to the high rpm. Cruising should be comfy at 100-125klm (60-80mph) I would think with a 15/47 or 15/45
:)
Speed was registered on my GPS only on 3 seperate attempts

15-48 is great for cruising between 60 -80 mph. But too tall for tight single track.

Yes agree. For our type of riding there is no tight single track just big open dunes and plains...

My ride :)

We had my 09 TXC 510 out this past weekend at Busco Beach in NC at their long drag strip. My son took the big 510 and raced lots of guys on 450's and put them away. One guy on a 09 Suzuki 450 talked to my son and said " what did you guys do to that bike, that things FAST?" My son told him well "dad added this kick stand but otherwise it's stock." It's funny most don't even know Husky still makes bikes LOL. Cooool pics Sandgroper.

Yep...lots don't know about Huskies and that is why it is so important to get them in the SX \ MX series here in the states ... One win there and every bike in the usa will be sold quickly !

This link goes to a speed \ RPM calculator .... You put in the variables and it gives U a speed at a given RPM ... I tried it on my bike and it was very accurate ...

PS -- I bet those 450s were bad-a$$ till you blew they away

Actually my son was on my TXC 510 at the drag strip and MX track and I was keeping an eye on my grandsons KX65, cfr50, with my Husky CR125. My son's suspension for his 2010 TC 250 is off to LTR for his magic. I talked with my friend that was at the strip with my son and he said it was funny listing to some of the guys say stuff like he must have some money in that motor talking about the 510. They too were puzzled when they were told the only mod was a kick stand used for holding the bike up while I put the grand kids back on their bikes after dirt naps. My friend said the boy on the Suzuki 450 had them covered until the 510 got into the mix. And they thought Husky only made chain saws LOL. Thanks for the calculator link. BTW my son plans on entering some races this year on the TC250.
