  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Please list the top mods for the wr300. I'm buying kearney's 08 wr300. It has head work and port work but all the trick parts have been pulled. Should I put a pwk 38as on? Or will the stocker do the trick? Please help me with a base line jetting for Hawaii sea level. Also FBF clutch basket? FWW? Thanks guys trying not to drop any more serious cash unless needed. Shipping from N.C. Hurts. Haha
 
I agree with Johnny, if I was stuck for cash and I had to do one mod it would be the Carb.
Next in line would be:
-Front pipe (2010 factory pipe)

Im assuming the head you have is already race spec, hi comp?
 
Yeah and a gas gas piston. Pro circuit port work. What is the big issue with the mikuni? My temps here are mostly constant.

Sensitivity to jetting and small weatherchanges. Bad low speed airflow= not so good bottom end power compared to the Keihin!

If you have BOTH racehead and GasGas piston that sounds like a racegas engine to me. That would give a very high compression! Are you sure about that?
 
carb and suspension. everything else is really just a matter of personal taste. heck, the suspension might be a personal taste thing too, but for faster aggressive riding, i needed suspension work.

Let us know how she performs once you do the carb swap and finish tweaking the jetting.
