  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I'm asking this question for my friend because he doesn't have an account and I guess it's just easier for me to ask haha. He's not getting and power from his bike, just revs really high but doesn't go anywhere in a hurry. So basically high rev and the acceleration isn't matching up. The engine was rebuilt about 10 hours ago so we are confused? Any input would be great

If the engine is revving and not pulling the bike the clutch might be slipping. If it has no midrange pull but revs it could be power valve not working correctly. It's hard to guess because your discription of the problem is vague.

It doesn't really have pull anywhere, it just revs the same as it use to and earlier today we were riding and then it stopped pulling and the revs stayed the same. He really had to hammer on the throttle to get any movement to get back to the truck

I'd be checking the clutch plates for evidence of slipping. Just lay the bike on its side and remove the cover. No need to drain the oil just remove the bolts and springs and have a look at the plates. They will show signs of being hot and friction plates will be worn.

It's a brand new rekluse, we took opened it up and everything looked great. Started playin with the lever adjustment and it's started pulling like the monster it is. Apparently the rekluse doesn't like it when the lever is snug, had to back it off pretty loose but it's awesome now.. Weird haha.. Thanks again for all the help guys

Make sure you removed one plate when installing the rekluse. By loose do you mean alot of free play? I set mine up with zero free play where the bike lunges forward with even the slightest throttle blip. I put the bike in neutral, put very little tension on the lever with one finger and rev the bike, and the lever should pull on it's own maybe 1/4" or so.
