• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Toby Price is going into surgery - 3 broken verterbrae in his neck - lucky to be still walking
Still at risk .
Toby is Australias best Enduro rider and our thoughts are with him .

He is a tough guy though
I for one would not want to race one of those desert races - with the dust its just a matter of time
Stay safe.

RD,
From all reports from local here with Ajax and directly from one of my crew members (Steve 40B P5 after breaking off his chain guide in the rocks-he was leading) that did this race it had more rocks than dust. both Toby and Skyler crashed near the same spot, odd.
On enduro 360 report author Chilly saw both "down" and tough guy Toby was up on his feet walking around, post crash.

Skyler crash has been posted on youtube and you can see where both of them crashed on my loop 1
video I point it out they are just pass check 2 in a real flat fast section off to the right
This is one reason I hate fast and love loop 3 stuff
Both are young fast guys hope they heal up and return

I'd like to wish both these young men a speedy and complete recovery and I always hate hearing of these type crashes ...

The backbone is a miracle thing ... It protects the spinal cord very well ... I crushed a vertebra in my lower back several yrs ago and have had no real side-effects except I'm an inch shorter ... I did learn that the vertebra bones can simply crush downward like styrofoam cup and protect the spinal cord ...

Hay boys just let you know Toby is at home now I read an article in the local paper last wensday he had op in Queensland got some screws put in his neck and should make a full recovery I have not seen him around town yet but he is out and about

Ray,
Sometimes the like button seems weird to push...so I didnt hit it from your post.
Ive got a compression on L1 its on the inside about a 1/3 compression so from the side view it looks like a can thats crunched on one side. happened at 18 Im in 50s now with no hard evidence of any effects. Im sure it loads the disc more in the un crushed spots but, nothing noticable...yet.

Toby is young and in shape he will be fine, I'm bummed for him not to continue his US competition tour, hope he's in shape for the Finke!!

The Finke he is very soon and he is going out to watch . He was very lucky to not be paralyzed.
He got stuffed around by his insurance company in the states and he had to get back to Oz to have surgery which was covered by the insurance company over here. The op in the states was going to cost $450K .
Apparently he was cruisng along in second behind Kurt when it happened

I just saw Toby on FB with a big smile wearing his neck brace and a KTM stickered safety helmet (the industrial dont bang your head type) Getting ready to chow down on table full of "tucker" (that is what you fellas call chow right?)

Correct Roberto on the tucker > chow (which is a racist terms for asian in Australia!!!).

Love Toby Price and often found it strange that he didn't get a gig in EWC or GNCC...wonder if the KTM sponsorship is an obstacle that even he can't ride over.

Best offroad rider in Australia ...though my Victorian bias leans towards Daniel Milner :D
