  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna (11-13) TE/TC/TCX 250/310 Full Coverages Skid Plate

The hyde guard I ordered didn't fit my 250 at all. Wish I saw this one, I went with the EE aluminum one but the coverage is average. Anything to keep weight down is a bonus

I will most likey put one on the new TXC250 race bike.
If something weird happens I'll pull the metal EE off the '12
and bolt it on.

Now the only question is Red or Black?

I be thinkin' Red...

I just ordered a red one through Bill's for our TXC310R

Be sure to post up your thoughts/opinions on it once mounted and used if you don't mind. I'm in the market for a skid plate as I have already cracked the OEM plastic one.

Personally it's all a matter of where and what terrain you ride. I just can't imagine one of these surviving in New England. I have destroyed several E-Line carbon fiber plates cracked aluminum ones and can only see this thing shattered in a million pieces on a cold New England rocky day. Aluminum plates IMHO are always the go to material. Bash them back into shape and weld the cracks and off you go again.

Personally, I can´t stand the rattle and noise they make. I´ve had carbon skid plates crack, but there are types of plastic that can take it better than aluminium.

Dirt bike magazine did a review on them in the September 2012 issue (yeah I keep them and re-read them for years). They didn't have any complaints and it still looked great on their long term test bike. They said the wings have a little flex but go back to original after a kit. Also, the scratches on the bottom was said to be minimal. They also said they were quiet. I wasn't aware that metal ones were noisy.

Maybe TMD needs to put one in a deep freeze for about 6 hours then pull it out and set it on concrete up side down them smack it with a 16 pound sledge dead center to show us it's worthy
