• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Throttle Lock Cruise Control

Crampbuster will work for your issue....but it is not a "throttle lock".
.
That is very true. That is why I'm not sure about the crampbuster. The easiest way to get my hand flowing again is to drop it down and give it a shake. Not easy to do with a crampbuster.

Good chance that you won't have any cramps to shake.

I have the same problem. Hardly an issue with my left hand but my right eventually gets tingly. I have tried loosening my grip, but my TE510 has so much juice, my 175lb butt is struggling to not hold on tight sometimes. Now I weigh 35lbs less than I did when I bought the bike and she became a beast. Cramp buster is probably a safer option I would think.

For the most part, the roads around here do not allow for 1 throttle position to be used (curves in road), but eventually I want to figure out a less dorky way to accomplish this:

When I bought the Strada, my right hand went numb in 5 mins or less, I added grip puppies to the stock grips and now it happens way less, and often I can ward it off by getting my thumb into a different position if for even just a moment or two. My concern with the crampbuster is that it might interfere with my normal throttle control. The local roads are all twisty. With the Kaoko, I can just lock it on a longish strait away and get the blood flowing again. Anyway, I am out for a 3 hour tour with a couple of buddies in the AM, and intend to give the CB a try.

Lekolite do you have guards on your bars? Which Kaoko do you run?

Until I buy something, I find it's my thumb being around the throttle that make me cramp up. If I put my thumb on top of the throttle and just use my fingers to keep it on (same as what the Crampbuster is doing. It helps some. But I too find the only thing that helps is to drop my hand a shake or wriggle my fingers.

I have Touratech hand guards. Don't have a Kaoko yet. It sounds like our hands do the same thing. The idea of being able to let go with my right hand just briefly sounds like a great thing, but I want to exhaust the cheap or free alternatives first.
