  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Throttle Cables?, Oem Or Aftermarket?/cross Ref

HUSKYnXJnWI

Husqvarna
AA Class
09TE450-

I need throttle cables-
Are OEM the only cables available?-Usually I replace with Motion Pro T2's but they do not appear available for the Husqvarna. I was hoping to get some better ones- my stock cables are thin and seem prone to kinking- although I don't have a problem its about time I replace them.

Anyone know if other makes have cables that cross referance- like KTMs? I am using a KTM throttle, those are transferable... comes down to length and cable ends at the Throttle body... I have an old KTM cable I could size up- but I know I need a longer length.

Anyone know more? or is everyone using OEM without question and I should be happy with them and order them up?

EDIT/ UPDATE: well I searched- and although ktm cables would work they are TOO SHORT I called enduroengineering about their longer cables for Ktms- they are 36" and mine on my 09TE450 are 40"-so Ktm's 3 inch longer are 4 inches shorter....
I ordered stock cables from Halls Husky for $40- They are good cables and I like the adjuster by the throttle end- Motion Pros don't usually have that. YOU COULD have motion pro make you a custom set but thats alot of $$ for cables. These work fine.

Mine were well lubed- but did fray near the throttle body- thus the reason for replacement.
