125-200cc Throttle cable routing

Just bought an '07 Whippersnipper thats only done 70kms and Im setting it up for my 1st ride next week going over all the basics like lubing throttle and clutch cables, fitting new Funnelweb air filter, transferring my Pivot Pegz, greasing shock linkages etc
Looking at the throttle cable as it comes under the tank I see it is routed beside the headstay which means it has to bend back to enter the top of the carb body. Will the cable have a cleaner entry into the carb body if I reroute it through the centre of the head stay? Does it come factory to the side or through the guts of the headstay? I just wanted to get some feedback if others have gone this way before I go to the hassle of rerouting. Cant wait to get this bike out onto some singletrack !

There is a cable tidy mounting tab on mine coming off the back engine mount bolt on the frame, i ticked it up in there along with the wiring Harness.
Along frame an up through the underside of top clamp, just use common sense if its tight re route it.

That is the routing from the factory. I guess it is so you can rotate the carb to jet it easier.

Gumtree Brisbane about 5 months ago, had to wait for summer to finish and people to start thinking about dirtbikes again so I could sell my Gas Gas EC200, sold GG quickly earlier this week and then "announced" to my wife that I had got a newer, better bike for "not that much more..." :-)
I've had it stashed in my 20' container where all my "work stuff" is kept offsite
What is the line I heard recently.. " its easier to ask for forgiveness than it is for permission..." Its the method I use very time even though I swear I won't do it again without "discussing" it first. Blokes just know if you try discussing a bike purchase there is not really a valid reason to justify it, so just get it and deal with the fallout later.
The wives just don't understand why
1) you could possibly need more than 1 dirtbike
2) why when you buy a new/used one why you have to pull it part and spend more money on it to "get it right".
3) why riding with your adult son is really "family time"
Im sure theres already plenty of threads on the subject, its just nice to now have the bike in the garage, in bits, grease under the nails getting everything how I like it and making sure its all prepped for upcoming Watagan/Buladelah/Clarence rides.

It's really great buying a "new" bike thats already got scuff marks on it, don't have to worry about the first drop or going through thick undergrowth and getting scratches, yet all the fasteners are untouched, everything is tight, no slop, nothings been hacked, plus less than 1/2 the price of a new one. Although I see new WR125s advertised for AU$5990 ride away at the moment, absolute bargain for a new registered dirtbike

Normally if you plant the seed they come around if they want something ..
If its built 07 it will probably be an 08 model . 08 wrs have black forks

Yep, compliance 06/2007 with Black Zokes, thanks for that info. Any difference in '08 specs compared to earlier?
