  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st Throttle cable - nipple problem

Husqvarna
Pro Class
Thought that may get some attention
Sorry talking about carbies here
I post this at the risk of seeming thick.
When I put on my PWK AS I had issues with getting the cable nipple into the slot on top of needle
Seems to be less room between spring and needle holder
The round plastic thingy -on end of spring also stops the nipple going into the slot
It physically gets in the way - I measured it
what am I doing wrong here? :excuseme:

I have installed cable but had to remove plastic piece:busted:
I know there is a slot in the plastic that fits into top of bolt but just
doesnt fit
I must be doing something wrong but didnt have issues with Mikuni spring - it was tricky but not near impossible

I think that the slide is bouncing now under acceleration as there is a noise like a chattering /bounce noise
maybe the noise is something else? Or is this normal?

Are you using the curved top from the mikuni, if not, do so, it makes it much easier.

You definitely want the plastic retainer, or you may end up with a throttle stuck wide open or disconnected altogether, could put you in a dangerous situation.

Yes used the curved top..you'll likely need to thread it in all the way

place the white plastic retainer on the cable...fish the cable nipple in the slot on the slide and seat the retainer

then last..lift the leading edge of the spring over the cable and thread it into place so that it goes into top of slide last.....

I find its easier to wind the throttle spring on rather than try to hold the spring compressed as you try to engage the slot in the slide....

Thanks all good now- what a putz
I guess i wasnt thinking that day - easy as anything
One thing to note though for some who may be have barbling noises- the plastic spring retainer has a slot and that slot needs to be in the slot on the nut that holds needle
other wise needle may move
