• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

This is Round II

Thanks.

I'm chillin' and letting things heal up. Spent Sunday at a CVMX tilt w/some friends. Stood trackside in the heat/dust of Cahuilla all day long - just lovin' the vibe.

Trying to do some modified exercises to keep heart rate up and still work on my core a little. Staying to true to my Shakeology regiment as well.

Well, here's cast #2. I went in concerned over some swelling and the Doc was none too impressed w/the soft cast.

Funny thing, this one will be cut off tomorrow when they go in to pull the stitches....then I get another one.

Alright, I've been in cast #3 now for about a month now (yup, cast #3 - pictured) and it's due to come off on the 7th.

I'm able to grip/hold onto some things now/

I went out to the garage Saturday and was able to squeeze the clutch on the Husky - which is a good thing, right?

Give it time, Brother. I know how strong the urge to push a recovery is, but it isn't the right choice. A strong will doesn't knit bone, time and good nutrition do. When you think you can, wait two weeks and then try. Been there, made the wrong choices. I'm probably older than you but a broken bone doesn't feel 100 % for me for 2 years. 16 weeks until it's "usable". Hang in there, don't trade future health to scratch the itch too early!

I played hockey for a lot of years and, when sidelined by an injury, I viewed it as a little vacation from the sport. This is different, it's almost like I'm being punished.

I hear what you guys are saying. I'll sit it out a little longer.

Alright, the casr came off today. The wrist still feels a little stiff however. I'll gradually get back into the weights but will certainly start out light.

They took X-Rays too  I grabbed both the before and after shots - cuz I'm cool like that.

Bike goes into the shop tomorrow for some "work ups". This will also prevent me from hopping on and heading out before the wrist is ready.
