  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

thinking of selling txc250

Wadman

Husqvarna
B Class
Im thinking of selling my 09 txc 250. What are these bikes bringing on the used market? I love the bike but dont like the lack of aftermarket support.

I absolutely love this bike and would start the price at $4500. Does it have a plate? If so, that will help. Just curious, but what aftermarket parts/support did it lack?

I've got mine set up almost perfect now with the following:

Hyde skid plate
Cycra hand guards
G2 Quick turn throttle tube/cam
JD Jet kit
Motosportz front rotor guard
Motosportz rear rotor guard
Motosportz radiator guards
Scott's stabilizer
Rekluse
Front and Rear Tubliss system
TurnTech battery

I guess what i should have said was the limited amount of choices of vendors. I really do like the bike but Ive got another bike that I will ride until I replace it.

What is it that is not available ? Myself as well as many others think that the 08/09 TXC is an outstanding bike. :excuseme:
Sounds like you are spending too much time on the Jap forums. Those guys seem to spend more time moding their bikes because they have to instead of riding. I am guilty of the same thing and get a bit envious of all the trick stuff they have available until I ride my basically stock Husky and relish in what an awesome bike it is.

I can sorta understand his reasoning, because if you go to Chaparral and others, there's TONS of stuff for the Jap bikes. It's like being a kid in a candy store. Sadly, there's little or nothing for the Husqvarna'a though.

The vendors we have for our bikes are great, but, the seemingly unlimited amount of aftermarket choices for the jap bikes is awfully seductive at times. Alas though, I love my two Husqvarna's and I will be keeping them close at hand.

You hit the nail on the head. I guess the tank issue is the biggest thing for me. I dont like the aftermarket tank with the built on shrouds.

I'm with wadman. I like my txc450 just fine, but I wish I had bought the KTM 300XC. I'm planning to continue to baby the TXC for 6-12 months and trade it for a KTM. :(

About the tank issue, what kind of Hare Scramble mileage will the 250/310 get. Possible to run a 2hr scramble without stopping? Thanks.

I just picked one up for $4,650 brand new so I think $4,000 might be realistic depending on how many miles and what accessories you have.

My only aftermarket gripe is the lack of a larger fuel tank. My 2007 TE250 could get 70+ miles on the 2.3 gallon tank so I figure my new TXC250 will be good for only about 60. So I guess I am still stuck carrying gas.

I have to work Saturday so first ride will have to wait until the following weekend.

Sorry you are selling yours. I am more excited about this bike than any I have owned in a long time.
