    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

OK here's the deal. I have an '07 TE 250 with 50 hours on it. I had the suspension done by a local Husky dealer ( who's name will go unmentioned because I don't think they did anything other than change the oil and seals maybe) and after I rode it I thought there was some improvement.( Maybe I was telling myself that after spending $400.00) Well yesterday I rode my friends KTM 400 XCW and it felt like a magic carpet ride compared to my Husky. My suspension literally beats the crap out of me and I wouldn't dream of riding at the speeds I was on the KTM on my bike. It would launch me right over the bars if I did. So before I drop another $500.00 at a "real" suspension shop' should I just upgrade to an '08 or '09 with the newer fork and shock? Are the 45mm Zoke and the '07 Sachs just not up to the level of other brands suspension?

Oh, they are just fine "if" you have the right shop do them. I have my local shop do mine, (JAY HALL), and I love everything about them. And I hear alot about LTR.

But if you need an excuse to buy a new bike......The 09's are pretty bitch'n.
 
I agree nothing wrong with the suspension you have. Someone that knows what they are doing should be able to set it up the way you want. I've never heard of any reputable suspension shop that didn't offer to keep working on them until they get it right for you, or at least give you what you asked and paid for. Before I'd buy a new bike over it (unless you're looking for an excuse then by all means :busted: ) or spend more money on them take them back and explain the problems you are having. Did they give you clicker settings or set them up for you? Have you played around with the clickers and tried to dial them in?

I think that in general the WP stuff is a lot more plush and compliant out of the box than the Zokes, but it's certainly fixable. The Sachs is actually a pretty decent unit.
 
If it was another shop I would go back but I know in this case it won't accomplish anything. I'd rather not go into details. My concern is whether it's worth putting more money into the suspension or upgrade to a newer model. Is it possible to make the '07 components plush for single track yet handle hi-speed whoops and hits?

Based on your location talk to the experts at Battone's for the ACE mods. They specialize in Husky suspension. The owner Fran is a good guy. I think Harvey does the suspension. Talk to either one and go from there.
 
I spoke with Bottone's and I will definitely send my suspension to them if I keep my '07. Right now I'm scoping out an '09 TXC or an '08 TE.
