  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I have one problem with my build. I located most of the original parts I needed for my 80's 420cr husqvarna build. But the original gas tanks are just too expensive. I found a white plastic husqvarna original tank from 84 I believe. It's not the 4.3 gallon I think it's smaller. I'm thinking about painting it husky red or black and using it on my project. I'd like to find the little black skinny tank with the off set filler cap. But the plastic will do.
Do you think the husky vinatge police will track me down?

I figure the 420 would be first because the head already has the compression release in it.

I seen the metal original tanks for $500 I purchased the plastic tanks for $39 to $50. I don't mind paying but $500? Your right no one will know but us guys right?

there are many who price husky stuff very high to see if theres a taker. i can see a mint tank for 500, but i have also seen kicker assemblies for 300 dollars. i sure as hell hope people dont pay that and drive people list more stuff at prices like that. i have seen 2 87 430 bikes purchased in person under 1000 for each in the last year. both were good bikes 95% excellent parts especially cases. so some prices are inflated a bit

The prices are just silly. The sell every nut and bolt. Check they take it all apart. I seen even the two ignition mounting plates being sold separate than the ignition. I'm not building too many. I just want to ride. I feel bad I passed on a cr honda it was dirt cheap. I was thinking on fixing it and flipping it to support my husky habit.
